I have a curiosity (???)

So a while ago I thought my workouts were mental and decided to dial back some volume.
Then shortly after all those famous bodybuilding folk got their threads started by T-Nation and it was apparent that they had lots of volume and frequency and it was like, okay, Jenn, tons of volume IS awesome so go back to that.
If they do it and are awesome, I can do it and become awesome-er.

So I have been reading their (his) log on elite fts and I signed up for john meadows site so I could make some informed decisions RE: my workout routine, but their posts don’t seem anywhere near as long as mine (?)
I workout for 2 hours a day and my workout shit appears very long once it’s all typed out.
But theirs seems normal and not mental.
I cannot tell if my stuff is mental or not.

I have had this problem my whole life.
Knowing what is rational and what is not.

I want to be the very best, like no one ever was…

How could my workouts possibly take 2.5 hrs when I already do like every single exercise possible, LOL.

I need to start planning stuff again or I just do everything.
But how do people make decisions
Say,
How does john meadows know to make his client do 3 x 15 VS 3 x 12, or 4 x 10.
Like what is the deciding factor that goes into those choices.

What makes an exercise worthy of an 8 rep set and a 6 rep set on a heavy day.
Is their no reasoning behind it? Is it just a decision?
To me, close grip bench seems like a 6 rep set, but I don’t know why…
Not everything is like that though, so I find it hard to plan things because I am crazy.

Is it necessary to have a justification behind everything? Is thinking like this dumb like, Jenn tomorrow you’re wearing your grey tank top because it’s shoulder day and you wore your loki’s army tank top on Friday so you can’t wear that one and you can’t wear the blank one because you wear the blue bra with the blank one and the blank one is better for a back day.

  1. Reading around in your log encouraged me to get my fat lazy ass back to the gym. Thanks.

  2. Triceps pain while pressing is typically caused (in myself and quite a few people I’ve worked with) by your triceps being too proportionately strong for your biceps. Not sure if that’s your cause but maybe some extra bicep work to balance out all the pressing might help, it did for me quite a bit.

  3. Pronated means your hand is turned like you’re pouring something out of a glass (both start with P’s). Supinated means you’ve got a bowl of soup sitting in your palm.

I have been doing really well with saving lately. I somehow managed to get myself into an OCD zone about not spending money, which is SUPER fucking awesome. I love it when I can get OCD about stuff that actually matters.

But yesterday I failed.
I don’t really have that many days off a week, and when I do I try to pick up shifts because I am honestly scared to death of off days because I have absolutely nothing to do with myself.
I don’t want to shop because then I spend, but I don’t want to do nothing because then I feel like a lazy fat ass.
My closet could not be any more organized, SRSLY.

He was there and organizing some like charity concert or theatrical production of some sort.
Also some kind of wizard of oz thing happening in the back of my mind during this that was totally irrelevant to the story.
OH I know why I thought it was my gym, because desk boy was there!!

And he told me to go look for ANthony right now because he was sitting in the audience waiting for this production to start.
He was in a folding chair right at the end of the row, middle of the audience.
Both chairs beside him were empty, and he was wearing a hat.
I go up to him and tap him and I’m like
“Hey, I really like you”
He seemed somewhat irritated.
I was like
“See, I have the shirt on right now”
And I am wearing my purple RHCP shirt and I point to it and he like fake smiles

Right now I am just sad.
Maybe a normal person’s definition of sad.
I don’t feel very excited about my body potential, but I don’t really hate my body either.
Plateaued, but not getting freaked out about how I can fix it.
I don’t have all these crazy plans about how I am going to improve my figure and become the greatest bodied person in zee world. (As per my norm)
I am not excited about a boy, nor am I heartbroken about a boy.
Not horny, but not repulsed by the idea of fucking.
I am just not anything. Where the fuck are all my emotions?

It’s like I’ve reached a grey area. Where, okay, I have lost a decent amount of weight over the past year, made some good changes, but where do I go from here?
I am far from satisfied, but I am tired of always wanting to improve myself instead of learning how to be content.
I could say, OKAY: Jenn! You have a mission. You need to tighten up your diet, add a couple cardio sessions, and cut like you’ve never cut before, just so you can see what you can really achieve.

And would that fix me? Or would that just be a distraction from the fact that I am not super happy right now and that I don’t know where I am really going in life?
It’s something to focus on that makes me forget about reality.
Like, k, you’re saving really well. Putting away hundreds of dollars each month towards _ _ _ _ something?

It would be like 10 years before I could afford to buy a place to live.
