Good Basic Strength Programs

What are some good basic strength training programs? An increase in size would be good as a bonus but I’m mainly concerned about strength. I’m relatively new to good training and am in high school lifting for wrestling.

the 5x5 from madcow’s site

There’s this website with a ton of articles about exactly what you’re asking about. Go to www.T-Nation.com

The westside template is far from basic.

I asked this question because many of the programs on this site are made predominately for hypertrophy instead of strength increases, Dickhead. And the search engine doesn’t return very good results.

No reason for the profanity. This site has plenty of strength programs. For starters, look under “Authors-Dave Tate”, plenty of strength “programs”.

Harsh…

Here’s a Basic Workout. The set and rep scheme is just warm up and do 1 working set beyond failure/ejaculation.

Day 1:
Clean
Squat
Press

Day 2:
Lunge
Bench Press
Chin-up

Day 3:
Wake up late
Masturbate
Nap

Day 4:
Repeat Day 1

That’s a really basic workout that’s very comprehensive. It’s full body, the overlap issues are minimal, and there’s the much needed rest day with simple instructions. There’s no need for anything but a squat rack, a bench, a barbell, and some weight.
The program also works every muscle in the body. The program will also make you bigger and stronger.

So quit being such a Douche.

5x5 for sure

And it’s a well know fact that westside is the only strength program out there. And that it’s all beginners should ever do.

If that doesn’t get it for ya, search for articles by Chad Waterbury.

How about Dan John’s 8,6,4 program? It’s somewhere on this site and also at Danjohn.org
