It may just be that I’m new here but as far as I can tell the only thing the lifters do on the power-lifting and bodybuilding forums do are the basic bench, squat, standing shoulder press and dead-lifts. Sure those are good workouts I can do for football but being a wrestler I need every single muscle in my body as strong as possible.
I’m looking for a program that works every single muscle in my body while including those basic lifts. I’m not looking for a program that some over grown meat-head put together in his garage. I’m looking for something that has been proven to work effectively time and time again.
PLEASE HELP
Sex with a Russian gymnast
Hits every muscle from every angle
Just don’t arrive too soon and you get a cardio workout too.

I prefer to throw water on stray cats and then try to hug them. That works every muscle in your body. And then some.

Programs like 5/3/1 and Westside, when including the supporting exercises, work your whole body. For wrestling, you may want to look into sandbag training, tossing around a heavy dead flopping weight is directly applicable to your sport.
PS: The over-grown meat heads are usually the best weight lifters, and they run this site. Insulting them may not be the way to go. Just a thought.

All sports require that an athlete have strong hips, legs, shoulders, arms, and midsection. The best way to develop these areas is with a basic and effective barbell-training workout.
Great advice from an “overgrown meathead.” You’re over-thinking it. Your muscles don’t know the difference between strength training for football…as opposed to strength training for wrestling.

Man, you sound like an uninformed asshole. Why the fuck would anyone give you a program if you’re not going to be respectful?
Anyway. A basic strength program will get you strong. Your body doesn’t know the difference between football strength and wrestling strength. Just run Starting Strength and incorporate 6x3 sandbag throws/cleans, with a weighted carry at the end of one of your workouts.
Sorry if I offended anyone, what I meant by that is just someone that goes to the gym and doesn’t understand any actual science behind it. Thanks for the advice though.
