Going to USA for 3 Weeks, Daily Gyms?

Im going to USA for 3 weeks in July and i would like to do some workouts when possible.

I have some questions:

Whats the average price for 1 day in a gym?

In my country you have to be +15 to enter most gyms, is it the same in USA?

Whats the name of the most common gyms?

Im going to california, LA area but will be traveling much.

Thanks.

Can’t speak for LA, but usually you have to be 16+ to enter weight rooms here I think, and a day fee will range from 10 bucks (in my hometown) to 25 (had to pay that in New York once). My advice is to avoid big health clubs when possible, those are the kind of places that will charge you more, make you take a tour of the facilities/sign a waiver, and may not even let you lift at all if you’re not a member.

Ask for a free trial, those are good for 1-2 weeks usually.

Try getting a one-month membership to a place like a YMCA. Look for a chain that has franchises all over the country and allows you to use one membership for lots of different gyms.

I’ve got a YMCA card that gets me in lots of regional YMCA’s without paying extra and with minimal extra paperwork.

Plus, a one-month membership will probably end up being cheaper than buying day-passes for three weeks.

In LA, look for an LA Fitness or 24 Hour Fitness (shouldn’t be difficult to find), ask for a free, 2 week trial membership.

Thanks, i really appreciated this help

Most of the big chains have some sort of free trial membership. Try Ballys Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, Planet Fitness, Lifetime Fitness, etc. I know Bally’s has a 14 day free trial if you print out the coupon, then you only need to find one other 7 day trial, or just pay for a week.

Okay, it seems like finding a gym will be no problem.

Now im more concerned about age requirements. I will be 17 at the time. Will my parents need to sign something or how does it work?

If your only 17 they may have to sign a concent form. I don’t think you can workout w/out it until your 18.

Contact any Golds Gym or 24hr Fitness in LA before you get there and see what they have to say.

Welcome to the USA and have a great time!!!
