Test your squat max.

Good idea.

You shot pretty damn high, you damn near wanted to double your PL total in 6 months. Nothing wrong with that, it worked to get you some very respectable gains.

Agree on the test your squat max. I know you’re somewhat disheartened, but you when you set really lofty goals you sometimes come short. And you DEFINITELY set really lofty goals? You were a true beginner when this started?

I think you should look at WHAT you accomplished. 120 lb. increase in 6 months? That is pretty damn good. So now when you deadlift max you need two 45 pound plates and another 30 pounds more than you used to. That’s some REAL weight.

Same thing for bench. I know plenty of people when I used to lift at a commercial gym who hadn’t put 55 pounds on their bench in their entire life. And they had been training for years. Again, that is some serious weight.

Let it motivate you, but don’t let it keep you from working your ass off or feel like you’ve accomplished nothing. You’re MUCH stronger than you were in January.
