My entire upper body and glutes are easy for me to develop, whereas I struggle mightily to add and keep mass on my legs. It’s probably due to the beach muscle workouts in HS while ignoring spindle legs.
i want the genetics of flex wheeler, is that to much to ask for?
DB, my gym is full of guys with quite respectable upper bodies and very small legs. I know some of them only focus on their upper body but it can’t be all of them. It must be maddening to work that hard and not be able to make gains on the legs.
My arms in general are genetically very large, as are my glutes, quads and traps.
However my chest, lats and calves are brutal

True, but I would find it even more maddening to have respectable legs and a very small upper body.
My chest, back, calves and butt are genetic strong points. I also could dunk a basketball at 5’7" and 130-ish lbs at 17 only 2+ years after picking the game up. Now I’m 5’9" 180 and can do some pretty cool dunks. Also, I’d like to say that my genetic “weak points” have become much less so after training the shit out of them. I always thought I had shitty genetics for my arms and shoulders, and while they’re definitely lagging behind they’re going from shit to suck, and I believe they’ll reach “respectable” within the next year. I firmly believe that you CAN out train shitty genetics, you just have to do it intelligently and consistently.

It is.
My squat is very good, and my legs are very respectable, but it sickens me that they can not catch up to my back or shoulders which are my genetic “easy mode”.
Even if you have great wheels, if the rest of you eclipses it, your legs look less impressive.
Some guys with thinner looking calves can squat 700+, they might even have 17-18 inch calves, which I considered quite nice… they just cant get them to grow as quickly as the rest of them, its not specifically their fault.
Put their legs on even a well built 200 pound guy and you’d think “holy shit his legs are like trees”.
But on a 250+…perspective is everything.

CANT STOP LOOKING AT THE BEAR!
Ha! I didn’t know it was an animated gif when I chose it for you! Nice!
I WISH I WAS FUCKING TALLER!!
My traps, shoulders, forearms and glutes are good.
My legs, calves and chest suck.
I would gladly trade all of my strong points for better legs and calves. I would also give up my forearms for nothing. They completely inhibit my biceps development. At certain angles they are bigger than my upper arms.

just curious, how tall are you?
Upper body is definitely my weak point, although my traps seem to grow nicely (lots of cleans?). Chest/arms especially are frustrating because while I’m generally stronger overall than a lot of people in my gym, good squat, dead etc, my bench is nothing to brag about and that’s all people seem to focus on. Quads seem to grow alarmingly well and…I have a big ass?

5’8…If im lucky 5’8 1/2.
I’ve got good hams. My biceps suck anus like a vacuum cleaner with a jet engine. I have long tendons, short muscle heads and an abundance of type 1 fibers. Way to go mother nature. If there is one thing I would change it’s obviously that.
I think I have a pretty balanced build. There aren’t any really weak or strong points and I’m happy with it. I just need to get bigger. I think having huge lat wings would be pretty cool though.
I’ve got nice calves, legs, but biceps suck and my height sucks even more
