Future Strength Milestones?

It’s not a matter of if. It’s a matter of when. When do you think these milestones would happen?

-500 lb Snatch
-600 lb Clean and Jerk
-1200 lb Bench Press
-1500 lb Squat
-3000 lb PLifting Total

when myostatin blockers become widespread.

The bench will happen when someone large with short arms grows the most intimidating gut to drop the bar on and contorts to a torturous arch with a new crutch shirt on and quickly bounces the bar a couple inches.

When n3wb is 25.

In reality, if kenelly can bench 1074. Which is supposed to be the smallest lift, I would say we’re overdo.

Plenty of geared lifters bench more then DL.

Out of those, the 3k total seems to be the most reachable, i think this will be done in the next year.

The squat sounds ridiculous, unless they get some beastly gear to the point where they do quarter squats. To be real i don’t even know if the human body can hold 1500 pounds.

I think the bench will come in time as soon as someone like Kenelly gets a little more out of gear.

I don’t know about the Oly lifts.

500 kg IPF squat. Maybe Siders can do this one day. Maybe some random russian. 1200 kg + IPF total. This will probably happen in the next few years.

Any geared lifters who bench more than they pull are bench only specialists, are injured, or need to reevaluate their training…kennelly is a beast, but he doesnt squat and pull, so you need to look to someone else…in a multi-ply untested fed, rychlak may be the one to do it, or bolton,…if siders competed multi-ply then i believe a 3000 lbs total would already be history

rychlak seems done at this point and probably wouldn’t have the dead to reach 3 grand anyway, and bolton is realistically still 300 pounds away from that total and his bench is holding him back. And Vlad Alhazov is injured. That pretty much just leaves donnie thompson as the closest to the 3000 mark and I think its fair to say he’s operating at his peak right now.

I also must say I just don’t see a 1500lb squat happening unless there is an even further breakdown in judging standards and some incredible advancement in gear involving actual metal springs.

I bet the Clean and Jerk will come soon.

There has been speculation that Reza Zadeh might make it, probably not at this summer but he’s only 28, I think, so he still has a few good years left in him.

ill wager that the clean and jerk goes in bejing! by the iranian Reza Zadeh.

he did 580 last time around. 20 more lbs in 4 years should be a possibility.

God you’re right. Donnie’s such a pussy.

If Andy Bolton could learn his bench shirt he’d be over 3K for a total

Because nobody developed a deadlift suit that’s as effective as the bench suit.

That’s the truth. Where’s his bench at, 670 or so? He needs to get his butt in gear and get 800 at a meet. He’ll do 3k then.

how does one not be able to hold that much with their legs and back but hold close to that with just their arms!!!

also agreed bolton could hit it easily, once his grip has improved hell pull well over 1000, the video of his 1004 came of the ground fast he just couldnt hold onto it! impressive too, sad when i saw he has the world record in the total with only a 600-700 pound bench, his squat and dea dare 1000 or more so if he works the bench its very easily in his sights to hit 3000 wow long post lol

Bolton doesn’t have the record total. His best total is 2807, to Donnie Thompson’s 2850. But realistically, I could see Bolton hitting 3000 before Donnie. Bolton has a LOT of room for improvement in the bench that could probably be fixed by form adjustments. I mean he must not be taking full advantage of his belly…

So Chad Aichs is a bench specialist, or needs to reevaluate his training? Why don’t you give him some tips, he obviously isn’t nearly as strong and balanced as you are!

I believe Reza Zadeh is around 30 which is pretty old for a weightlifter; I still think he’ll take gold but I doubt he’ll beat Taranenko’s 266kg let alone get 272.5kg.

I hope I’m wrong; perhaps an unknown Chinesse will come out of nowhere and do it?
