When using the wrist grip, I can’t seem to keep my elbows out for the life of me, mainly when going heavy. I don’t really have a problem keeping my back straight but want proper stability by sticking out the elbows. Any suggestions?
do you mean keeping your elbows up? im not sure how out would help, and out from what?
if you are meaning up, then you need to let go of the bar and only have your fingertips touching it. you need a lot of wrist flexibility to be able to bend them back far enough to allow the fingers to help stabilize the bar. and shrug up just a little to help create that nice meaty shelf on your delts to hold up the bar.
yes I mean elbows up. I’m new to front squat after back squating for years but I’ll try that next time. If i rest the bar on the delts, won’t it be unstable from the motion especially the ascension?
put straps on the bar. Much easier. CT has done a few vids about it

Fuck. I use the arms crossed technique and I fucking hate front squats for the reasons he mentioned. I wish I had seen this sooner. Thanks for the vid.
LOL, that’s cool cause I’ve always done it like that with straps. At least now I know it’s a good way to do it.
