Front Page Photos

you mean I won’t look like Jay Cutler by deadlifting and taking fish oil? how could they lie to me?!

I like the inspiring photos, as well as the authors’ pictures and videos. Jim Wendler’s posts about squatting were really cemented in my mind when I saw his geared squat, and compared it with his more recent raw squats. So many of these concepts in lifting are so simple, but they’re not always easy to understand with so much competing advice out there.

These articles and videos on tnation/elitefts/liftrunbang have helped me find my form in squatting. Prior to that I followed the advice on stronglifts, which has an author that is pretty weak and consequently gave squat tips that felt unnatural to me and resulted in shoulder and eventually bad knee pain. Seeing videos by authors such as Jim Wendler and Paul Carter really helped me. In my opinion it’s very important that these authors back up their writings with personal and/or client experience.

Lol @ being intimated/jealous from pictures of bigger guys.

Obviously there’s a certain element of selling a fantasy here. It’s an idealized version of reality.

It’s not like I actually have a problem with any of this. I just noticed a bit of a disconnect.

I’m sorry, but I have to disagree here. The average person thinks anyone much bigger than Urkle is on steroids.
Agreed. I’m 195 lbs…30-35 lbs of it is fat…I get accused of using steroids about once every three months…it’s flattering when random asshats do this.

and i guess pretty stupid, yeah… Deadlifts make u huge… Nah. Bags of roids do. If you already have a big huge back you built from other exercises from roids, than i guess its safe to take out your back with 300 lb deadlifts.
Interesting. I didn’t even know it took steroids to deadlift 300lbs.

Thanks for the info.

Any pics?

You should have stopped yourself from clicking “start new thread”.

Yeah, lets get on a free forum to complain about free pictures in the free article we just read.

I think others are again stating that the only “disconnect”…is if you really aren’t shooting for any significant goals.

That is the only way I could see a picture of a huge bodybuilder bothering someone.

I consider myself more “hardcore” than some guy who thinks you need steroids to deadlift 300lbs. I think the disconnect is that there are still too many people here with Men’s Fitness mentalities who insist on making this forum cater to them at the expense of those with more outstanding goals.

It takes a shit load of work to get really big…and clearly this pisses some people off.

on the front page of T-Nation there are always good articles on training, but is there ever a photo of a normal guy training??? its always a guy taking a pound of roids a day. guys are all bigger than a house. i know they train hard… but they sure didnt get that way by following the article. its drugs… be nice to see a normal athlete in the photo… not just druggies…
What is hilarious are the physiques of the writers of these “fitness articles” all over the web. Fat beer gock having alberts, writing about fat loss. The point of the article is for you to watch an advertisement, which makes the idiot writer a few pence from google. The writer didnt post his own body did he, no they are always capitalizing on other people,s success., using roided bodies to sell their supplements, T Nation is a business after all.

Reading T Nation articles telling me to deadlift every 5 seconds to become huge like a roided guy, caused me a lower back injury i was 14 at the time, and i guess pretty stupid, yeah… Deadlifts make u huge… Nah. Bags of roids do. If you already have a big huge back you built from other exercises from roids, than i guess its safe to take out your back with 300 lb deadlifts.

I have since recovered but it did affect my lifting for 6 months, i had muscular imbalances which led to the injury but no one sees it coming . Stay the hell away from deadlifts unless your on roids and buitt up your back carefully over many years. Do isolation instead or assisted squats. Sooner or later you will wreck a disc squatting or deadlifting. Than your out of the gym for good. Thing is i did have tree trunks for legs though.
You need steroids in order to DL 300lbs? lol

Yes 300 lbs is off, but i know nothing about the exercise as i dont do them, im not a powerlifter, and 300 lbs sounded like a big enough number to use. Attacking me for a typographical error, in a subject you KNOW you are seasoned in. Very alpha, fuck its like you think people know everything, why would i come to the forum if i know it all…since youncantnfigure that out, than you are the idiot, and the one with the problem.

seems like these online forums attract the sadistic know it alls of the world. There is no money to be made lifting weights, its pure leisure, 0 . Fuck im glad im educated and not a meathead

I do the SAME routine every single year, the EXACT same exercises, i do 35 different exercises , so i never change it up… change it with what… another 35 exercises. I just focuz on getting stronger on each individual one, and omg man i dont even work my legs, i take that hour and i fuck my girlfriend, or do some cardio fitness doesnt take over my life unlike yourself, im busy with my job making money so i dont have time to be a fucking roided bodybuilder, and make 10 meals a day, and i give the least amount of a fuck about legs hence, why i dont see it as an efficient timely investment.

Bet you have your panties in a bunch now since im such an ignorant lifter omg man, bigger things going on in your life or nah?

I think they should use more pics of X in those articles. Perhaps in next single-leg training article.

No, it’s right here too if you think big muscles and gym time daily mean someone isn’t educated. Care to go further?

I’m a meathead. Proud to be one.

I am also betting I have done the school thang harder than you too.
