Is fish oil caps the same as cod liver oil?
i can imagine that cod liver oil tastes like the sweat from satans arse crack but as a student, fish oil caps are too costly.
uhh dude, you can get a months supply for like under $17. If you can’t afford that, i don’t know.
If you want to use cod liver oil, make sure it has the vitamin D removed, as large amounts of D are found in cod liver oil and the accumulated amounts can be toxic. Why not buy canned salmon, sardines, or mackeral and find some way to kill the taste e.g. mustard sauce, tomato sauce, curry powder, chili powder, etc.
go to sams and get the member’s mark brand. they are like 8 dollars for 300 caps.
do you consider 3 cents a gram expensive? thats not that bad. you pay 2 cents for good quality whey protein. check out puritans.com and do a search on fish oils. their sale is ending soon ( buy 1 get 2 free) not a typo. get the largest size plain fish oil and it comes out to 3 cents a gram. laters pk
sorry, i should have said i was a new zealander…everything here is overpriced, ie a bottle of generic fish oil tabs (300) costs $60 and id be taking 20 a day, not good economics my friends when ive got a mighty $20 a week slush fund to go out drinking/socialising as well as buying “extra” food such as fish oils.
i ransacked my town in NZ (Dunedin) but all i could find that was cheap was cod liver oil with vit A in it.
anyother kiwis get around this problem somehow?,are there any brand names you use that i can ask to be ordered in to Dunedin?
anyway, either way ill live, oil or no oil
cheers
sorry i could not be of help. I know how difficult it can be living in another country with less access. maybe you can do a search on the internet and find a company that ships overseas. the important thing about fish oil omega-3 is the epa,dha content. those two fatty acids are what is needed and are provided by fish oil. i’m not sure if cod liver oil provides that in sufficient economic amounts. laters pk
