First Annual [B]rotastic [U]ltimate [L]ifting [K]in [I]nternational [N]atty [G]ames

Deadlifted 210kg and pressed 60kg x 6

So to follow that up ^ I pulled 190kg for 8 today, which apparently puts me at closer to 230kg. Hmmm

Nice!

IDEA: We should add a 60kg strict curl to the challenge.

Rules: Upper back, butt, and shoulders must be touching pad/wall. Legs must be locked. Heels of feet are at least one foot from the wall/pad. No foot movement, knee bend, or butt/back movement (even if they’re still touching the wall) is permitted. The elbow is allowed to come forward to finish the lift, but not excessively. This is done using an EZ bar. Either narrower or wider grip is permitted. Hold the bar at the top for 1s before returning the bar to the starting position in a controlled fashion. Any gear that is legal in classic powerlifting (wrist wraps, chalk, belt, knee sleeves, oly shoes) is fair game. If you choose to post a video, the Backstreet Boys must be playing in the background.

What do you guys think?

With a part of the title being brotastic, curls should be a welcome challenge.

I am good with it. Havent tested this though. And in the background it will probably be Miley Cyrus.

Unacceptable. That pretty much makes your PR invalid :stuck_out_tongue:

My best strict curl to date is 50kg for a double.

I think I deserve to have my weight adjusted upwards for that. If you can perform any lift with “Wrecking Ball” going in the background, I think that’s worth at least 15lbs with some decent music, or silence ha.

Agreed…just because of the testosterone lowering effect.

Another proposition that would require a new thread…

How about a lift/challenge of the month thread???

Designate a lift at the beginning of the month. Participants jump in and post their current PR and a video if they want. The goal being to SMASH your current PR in anyway you can. Straight weight, adding reps, total volume (ie taking an old 1 RM and doing ten singles), lifts under a time…whatever. What should be done is at the end of the month everyone posts a video of themselves giving their ALL and then some fucking more into said lift. I wanna see who can put their most heart into their training for a month and that final set.

Participants pick their favorite video based on improvement and performance/effort whoever receives the most votes win. Winner gets bragging rights and to choose the next lift or it can just be voted on again.

My gym offers little in competitiveness. If there are any others out there who would like to add some competitiveness to their lifting voice yourself here.

Any takers? At least three other crazy fuckers and I’m totally down for this.

That’d be cool.

I think csulli does some crazy shit that he posts in his log. I might be mis-remembering though.

Could go through the Greyskull conditioning book. But that might come off a little crossfitty. (which I don’t necessarily guess is a bad thing)

I don’t have new 1RM’s yet, but my maxes were 355 and 230 for Bench and Squat. I just hit 355x2x2 the other day, and Benched 235x2x2. So progress is coming slowly but surely

Also, I’d be up for the challenge of the month thingy. Even if it is Crossfit like, I need stuff that keeps me from getting fat lol

That seems like the best thing for a monthly thread because most strength goals take a lot longer than a month.

Would people want these to be implement free or include sandbags, kettlebells, barbells, sleds, tires and other implements??

As long as it’s not most kipping pull-ups in a minute, I’m in for whatever!

Fuck the kip ha I actually bought the Greyskull book so I may start a thread and throw up some of those or see if someone gets creative.

Go for it man, should be fun.

Deadlifted 210kg for 3 today, going to go for the pull in a couple of weeks

MaazerSmiit is killing it in here.

Not near as impressive, but I hit rep PR’s of 225x5 on Flat Bench and 315x10 on Back Squats.

Ya he is.

My 5/3/1 TMs are still to low to post anything of substance.
