I’m on the Fast Fat train as of today. No carbs post-workout totally sucks, and since I get all of my protein from whole foods and MRPs I had forgotten how much protein powders totally taste like crap. Ugh. I don’t know what the deal is, but they all have this weird ass aftertaste that I want no part of. Oh well. Quick question: the powder I’m using right now has 5 grams of carbs per 50 g of protein/250 calories; for my caloric requirements this will wind up giving me 10/15 g of carbs a day. Is this going to screw up ye old ketosis or is that amount of carbs acceptable?
Texas: No, that is the norm for 50 grams of protein. Biotest’s own protein is 20 grams of protein with 2 carbs so you should be fine. I highly recomend Advanced Protein, it tastes great mixed with water and is thick. I am on day 20 I think, still doing great. I take naps more often and take ephedra and md6 preworkout to help me along. I’ve lost about 17 pounds so far and people are asking me how my arms and chest are so much bigger. It is a great illusion when you uncover your muscles from the fat how huge you look! I am planning on about 2 more weeks of this and by then should be well into the single digets of BF. Abs are almost totally uncovered and legs are just about there. I crave Advance protein! Again try it out guys you’ll love it if you love Grow.
Texas, that is what my protein powder has in it in terms of ratios and I have had no problem on this diet. I know I am in ketosis as you can’t miss that swamp mouth feeling and taste. So I wouldn’t worry about it to much. Jonathan I can’t help you on the arm thing other then to say that you had a lot of water retention in the arms possibly. Why don’t you concentrate on putting on some good muscle, it burns more calories and it will burn some of the fat you have on your body.
Texas…I don’t think that amt. of carbs will screw up the ketosis. Jonathan, if you’re concerned about maintaining muscle while burning fat, you may want to try a different diet like the T-Dawg or a traditional, moderate calorie, high protein, moderate carbs, 6 meals a day type bodybuilding diet.
ok, it isn’t areally a secret, it’s Michelle, but I don’t want my t-man knowing i’m doing the fat fast, it’s a surprise! Anyway, day one is half way over. flax seed oil has to be one of the most disgusting substances on earth, but i’m putting it in my shakes so i can barely taste it. i did find some garlic chili flax oil that i’m going to buy for the occasional salad though. that sounded pretty good to me! i’m mixing the fiber stuff right into my shakes too, it makes them thick but it’s easier to drink that way…so far so good, but i’ve barely started!
Well, I bought some ‘Guar gum’ (a fiber) at the health food store. This stuff thickens up quickly after stirring it in water, and kind of helps keep you feeling full. It helped a little, took it this morning when my stomach started rumbling. Tastes very nasty. I read in an old MM2K article about how this diet doctor recommended taking the stuff to feel full, and therefore curb cravings. It helps a little…not too expensive either, it was like 6-7 bucks. Try it out if you have hunger pains.
Jonathan-- No, it’s not normal to have abs showing at 140 pounds. I was 140 pounds 2 years ago in high school and was skinny but had no abs showing. I’ve since added a ton of muscle and weigh in at 185 and the abs are much clearer. In order to see a six pack you have to have a decent amount of muscle. Some people might have the genetics to get a six pack at 140 pounds but not many. Take a look at the average high school guy (140-160 pounds) and how many of them have six packs? You need to gain mass man.
Started the FF today. Wasn’t so bad… did get terrible hunger about 4:30, but an MD6 and a shake cleared it up. Thanks to T-mag guys for getting the supplements here so quickly. Roughly how long before ketosis starts? Is there a minimum amount of carbs I should consume or is it a percentage? I am taking in about 24 to 30g of carbs on about 1,030 total cals. Is it alright to drink diet coke? I think it is slightly more addicting than crack cocaine. Also, are there any problems adding salt and pepper to a can of tuna? Will there be any problem with simple sugars being in my protein mix, I still stay under 30g? Sorry, I sound like the whiny ex-girlfriend everyone dumped in highschool, but I would like to get it right the first time. Thanks to everyone for the help on my first post.

so, day one down…16 to go! I’m feeling ok, though i was nauseated all day from the ‘flax flavor’ of my shakes. i could only taste it a little bit, but that seemed to stick in my mouth. tonight i added 2 tbsp of the atkins flavored syrup and that made a really big difference. i’m not feeling weak and tired yet, but i’m sure that will come after day two or three. you ‘guys’ are gonna be my inspiration for the next two weeks! let’s do it!
Whats up everyone. I am getting ready to start my diet tomorrow and i was curious, how often and for how long have you guys and gals been doing cardio while on this diet? Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks
here is my opinion for a couple of you. Ratherbelifting, yes your carbs are two high. The idea is to get all your calories from protein and flax oil. You should only get carbs from your protien shake and you should get one as low in carbs as possible. My carbs are under 18 grams at 1400 calories/day…jbomb I do cardio minimum 4 times, sometimes 5 days a week and I have not lost any muscle yet doing this.
jbomb…I do about 20-30 minutes of light cardio after every weight training session, so about 3 days a week. Lately, I’ve been jump roping on my ‘off’ days for like 20 minutes. Ratherbelifting, I wouldn’t add simple sugars to your drink, just use a straight protein like whey isolate or concentrate, or a blend of whey, casein, and egg albumin.
Oh ya, Diet Coke is cool. Just don’t get carried away, drink more water. I got carried away with Diet Pepsi when I started, and when I started drinking more water, I could really feel a difference in how I felt.
Sup guys, I’ve been MIA for the last week due to this awful thing I had to do, you know go on vacation. I just couldn’t stand the warm sun and smooth sand under my feet. Needless to say, I put a stop on the FF. I lasted about 14 days. Took a week off. Now I’m on day 2 of my FF cycle. It’s almost like a Delta or ABCDE type diet technique. I find it to be working very well. Any questions, just ask.
Day 9. Down about 13 lbs total so far. Had a ribeye steak fri. nite. Really helped me mentally and have not had any food cravings since. Weight loss is slowing. Lost almost 2" on waist so far but do not really look any leaner in the mirror. Can someone please tell me if the next 2 weeks will progress faster? I really want to “see” some results. I was going to go only a week more but figure may need to go 2 more to get where I want to be. Am having a hard time getting into deep ketosis. Am using the stix but am registering a +15(hardly in ketosis). Am taking a whey protein with 3g carbs per serving and 22g protein per scoop. Am taking 2 scoops per serving and was taking 4 servings per day with 6Tbs of flax oil. Was working well last week but this week is not? Dropped to 3 servings per day with 5-6 Tbs of flax oil and am upping cardio to 4 times of 30 min ea. from 3 times. Anyone have any suggestions? Drinking about 2 gal of water per day and taking thermogenics. Just want to know what to do to get into DEEP ketosis. Oh yeah,when I started the diet I was at about 1377 calories and am now around 1100-1200 per day.
Hey guys, I found it funny that while I was scouring the previous t-mag issues for any scrap of info about the FF I came upon this thread. I did a bit of research and gathered up my supplements and finally started the FF yesterday. To my surprise it was much less painful than I had feared. I ended up only having 3 of my 4 planned shakes and had a small chunk of steak for my final meal. I didn’t have many hunger pangs which surprised me however I think that is due to the ECA stack. When I’ve been off of it for awhile it really hits me, in fact I took my last dose at about 4pm and I could not get to sleep until about 12pm and I was wired heh. Takes about a week to taper off then my hunger usually returns and my wiriness goes away so I guess by the end of the week I’ll find out just how bad it will be.
Just for reference I’ll list the supplements I’m using. Also I am almost the identical weight and bf% as the author of the article so I went with the prescribed 1300 calories. I’m using optimum nutrition protein powder, only 30 bucks for a 5 lb tub with 80 servings and thats retail. Also picked up some all natural type of flax oil with no preservatives so it’s not supposed to last as long as the garden variety stuff. I chose to use diet fuel for now instead of a norepedrine stack. Diet fuel has worked great for me in the past and it seems to control my hunger better than the ripped fuel does. If my hunger returns in full force then I may switch to MD6 as I hear it’s really great at knocking out hunger. I am also taking multi vitamins in the morning and have my sugar free metamucil incase of emergency
After reading some of the Poliquin articles I am considering picking up some Glutamine to take before bed and when I get up to try and promote GH release.
So at any rate it’s day 2 and I feel good so far. If it stays like this I shouldn’t have too much of a problem keeping it up. My plan is to have 4 shakes a day(220 calories a piece) with some sort of real food for dinner like a hunk of steak, chicken, can of tuna, eggs and bacon, etc… just to keep sane.
I’ll keep in touch on my progress.
day 2 is half over. hunger isn’t bad, but i’ve never been a big eater anyway. but if i’m late with a shake (or meal) i get really bad hunger pains so i have to eat pretty much on time. i’m on ripped fuel for now, i’m not seeing any real effects now that the jitters are gone. (jitters were the only thing that seemd to happen) i tried MD6 back in the fall and didn’t have any results from it either. i’m down three pounds since saturday. all water weight i know, but it’s still nice to see the numbers!!! by the way, i’m using designer protein, which is really thin when mixed with water - so now i mix my psyllum fiber stuff in the shake and it makes it much thicker, though still drinkable. the atkins syrups really cover the flax flavor too! only 14 1/2 days left!

Udo’s choice tastes MUCH better than flax and gives chocolate protein powder a nutty flavor. Might be more cost effective than flax and Atkins syrup.
To all- Pick up a copy of Lyle McDonald's "Ketogenic Diet" book. Great reading and it really lets you know what's going on with this diet and other keto diets. It picks up and expounds on BodyOpus. General great diet info too.

A couple messages back I thought you said you were using ephedrine AND MD-6. I think this is definately not recommended from a health standpoint. I think it has to do with combining norephedrine with ephedrine. You might want to check it out before you continue that.
well, I have a big bottle of flax right now, but I’ll try the Udo’s when I run out. Where can I get it? I asked at GNC and they had never heard of it. Does anyone know about heating flax oil? The bottle says not to cook with it, but what about putting it on hot food? I found some garlic-chili flax oil and i’d like to try it on chicken…
