FFSG (fat fast support group)

OK Day 8. The results are…waist down 3 inches…arms still the same of not a little bigger. Bodyweight has only dropped about 6 pounds (I am 233lbs) so I must be gaining some muscle while dropping fat…hard to believe, but I have no other explination. If you read my last post…I thought yesterday was bad…spilling the bottle of nandro, but today takes the cake. I have just switched jobs, and was looking for a gym for lunchtimes. Found a (Begins with G last letters ld’s in case they don’t want us posing gym names.) Anyway, I was expecting to walk into a bunch of big guys moving big iron (My kind of motivation) instead, all I see is a bunch of foo-foos!! The guys were all flabby, and the ladies…well lets just say there wasn’t a t-vixen in sight!! The heaviest bench I witnessed in that hour was 135…no joke!! So much for inspiration…no joke they even had Kenny G playing on the radio…my T-levels may never be the same!! Gonna have to bathe in my andro tonight just to get my body back to rights!!

Oh…I forgot to mention the individual moving the 135 lb bench press was grunting and groaning at the top of his lungs and making quite a scene about moving these “big poundages”…you guys know the type…the UUURRRRGGGGGGG>>AAAAAAA!!! that just bounces around the walls…it was enough to make me want to cry. I know we all have to start somewhere…but I know way back when, when I was moving those tiny poundages…I was sure not making a peep out of embarasment that someone might notice my pitiful bench!!

All rightey! Day 5. My spirits are up, and my weight isn’t! I have dropped 7 pounds of fat (I had a water issue that I think Maclar brought to my attn- thanks). My poundages in the gym are about the same. I even TRIED to do some GVT style training for cardio. To quote the chick that works the counter when I go in “You’ve got the staying power of a 15 year old on some blond ass.” Maybe it’s the lack of food or something, but that’s the best line I’ve heard from a woman in weeks.

ok, day one of the diet coming to a close… around lunch time i got really hungry… but drank more water and it subsided… not feeling too bad now… 13 more days to go…
how are the rest of you guys doing?

Hey Folks. To satisfy my own curiousity I started using 5-HTP with this diet. I haven’t craved a damn thing since. If your not using this supplement with the fat fast do yourself a favor and give it a try. Normally after a few days on a diet I’ll give in to carb cravings and choke down a whole pizza or something. But I honestly have no desire to eat anything beyond whats required for this diet. Just so you know 5-HTP can make you drowsy so pop some MD-6 if you get a little sleepy. Oh and don’t take more that 75mg a day.

Am starting my 2nd day. Yesterday was ok but got hungry for some food last night. Drank a BIG glass of water and it subsided. Am taking a thermogenic which really helps the cravings and keeps my energy up. Ran 1.5 miles this morning on an empty stomach(had a cup of coffee) and feel like a million bucks now. Weighed in this morning and had dropped from 249lbs to 243 lbs! Probably all water b/c I pissed all day and was on the pot at least 5 times yesterday> Must have been from my last meal the night before of chicken alfredo, Texas toast and beer! Do not have any sweet cravings as of yet. Pants a little looser(not much but only a day on). Am hitting the iron tonite so we’ll see how strength holds up.
Still not sure where to get a Fina kit. Maclar, that hint was way too abstract.

Came off FF a couple of days ago. Reintroduced carbs and expected my weight to jump way up but only came up 2-3#. I’ve been using some else’s bio-imp equipment and they haven’t been in so I don’t know my final bf. Strength has returned nicely. Had a really good chest day yesterday. Benched 205# for 8, which is what I was doing before FF. Endurance has returned and I needed less rest between sets. I’m going back on a mass cycle and see if I can get some gains. Started back loading creatine too (missed it).

Musclhead, didn’t mean to be abstract. There really isn’t anything eccentric to do on this fast except to ‘tough’ it through. Believe it or not, simple things like the Vitamin C chewables and drinking lots of water or Crystal Light help a lot when you’re suffering. I like to help out, and since this fast has been very successful for me so far (lost 14 pounds already: on day 7 now), I’ll go ahead and list exactly what I’m doing to give helpful hints: I’m following B.Strasser’s workout routine, except I do it MWF. So far, I have been doing 20 minutes of cardio on the treadmill (brisk walking) after weight training. I have been taking 2 tablespoons of psylium for fiber, 1 tbs in the morning with shake, and another at night. Been using Designer Protein and EAS Simply whey. 4 shakes a day (ideally) which have 40 grams of protein and 1 tbs of flax oil (Barlean’s) each. To keep sane, I have been allowing myself either salmon, beef, or chicken at dinner instead of the protein/flax shake. I don’t count the caloric value, I just eat enough meat to feel full. So when I eat it’s 3 protein/flax shakes and a solid meal at dinner. I have not been using Androsol, only thermos, multivitamin (Ultimate Nutrition’s Super Complete Capsules), fish oil caps for when I eat a solid meal (unless it’s salmon that I eat) and I have been experimenting with 5-HTP. I have been taking a 100 mg. capsule with my morning shake. It is the Jarrow brand. I have also been taking 100 mg. of EAS’ Alpha Lipoic acid daily, usually at dinner meal or shake. One more supplement: Powerdrive before workouts (1 1/2 servings). Here’s another thing I have been doing for the past 3 days: I BBQ some chicken breasts and slice them, and put them in a container in the fridge. When I’m dying for something to munch on besides vitamin c chewables, I take a slice or two of chicken breast and dip it in a tiny amt. of A-1 steak sauce. If I end up eating a whole chicken breast for the day, I simply use 20 grams of protein instead of 40 for a few of my shakes. I don’t know what other hints to give!

I just started the ff diet yesterday, and let me tell you: I was one hungry dude! I’ve made one change now, instead of just drinking the protein I’m eating 4 egg whites with the flax oil 2 or 3 times a day. It makes a big difference having some solid food. I don’t know if this will mess up the diet, but I’ll keep posting here. This thread is a good idea to keep all of us on track. Good luck everyone!

maclar, you renegade, you! Your last post in this thread was quite comical! Why? Because you very kindly tried to think of EVERYTHING you could think of to help muslhead with the FF. Read his previous post again, and then go read another thread dealing with Bill or Brock, started March 18th. I think he’s got you confused with JRR… =)

Oh man! I just got my Advanced Protein in today and it blows Designer Protein away. It tastes so good i can’t believe it. I just finished day 15 I think. I’ve added eggs and bacon every few days. One chunk of cheese today, less than one oz though. I’m feeling pretty good now, it is great to taste the Advanced Protein. This will make it much easier.

My bad! sorry, but with my memory lapses lately in regards to this damned diet I posted the question at the wrong post. Did get some good tips though Maclar.
Today is day 3-down 10 lbs… Did legs back and bi’s last night and today am totally drained. Had 2 cups black coffee PLUS thermogenic caps and a protein shake this morning. Just hope to get through this day. Am really forgetful today-bad memory. Are there any negative affects from getting a little too much or too little flax seed oil? Does it need to be in every shake? Have not had any solid food since Sunday night but am doing ok. Drinking about 2 gallons of h20 a day. Will this lethargy end soon? I guess it is b/c I have finally burned out all my glucose stores. Really weird side effect-am horny as a Brahma bull. got off fina/andro cycle almost 4 weeks ago. What the hell is up with that?

Another thing(there goes the memory again!) Got a REAL BAD cramp in my abs last night while lying on the bed and sitting up to go piss. It lasted about 30 seconds and felt like one of those late night calf cramps-you know the ones that make your calf look twice its size and knot up like a baseball-except it was in my right abdominals. stood up to try to stretch but was so painful it took my legs out and I had to lay on my bed while my wife asked if I was ok. She thought I was having a heart attack! Am not dehydrated but maybe need some potassium. Any suggestions?

Just started day 3 of the diet and I’m pretty happy so far. I’ve gone from 192 to 188 and my waist is smaller by 1/4 inch. Just around meal time, though, I comtemplate eating an entire pizza, but my 4 egg whites brings me back to earth. Diet soda is my biggest vice now, it helps keep me sane. I went for a run today, normally I go for 25-30 minutes, but today I could only hold on for 12 and I had to walk the rest of the time. Stick with it you guys! It seems to be working!

whats up guyz…Ive been on the fat fast for two weeks now…gone from 228 to 212 and im feeling good…makes it so much easier to get cut…thanks alot for every…wanna give a shout out to Chris Shugart…thanks for the help fella…keep up the hard work…later guys

OK Day 10. Was in the gym (aforementioned foo foo gym) and the guy who was groaning and grunting benching 135 was in a STRING top today…all flabby and pale…wanted to go back and print out the diet manifesto and smack him with it!! Not a muscle on this guy anywhere and he is in bodybuilder gear…geezzz! Anyway…was bi’s and tri’s today. Played with a new bar…it has swivel handles on it. Attached it to a cable and did some curls…it was great, could feel it hitting my biceps perfectly…felt the pain…felt the blood rushing thru my arms…and…and…and…NOTHING!!! I can’t take not getting a pump much longer!!! No joke…this is killing me…I think Saturday I am going to carb up and break this fast…at least for one day…because this is really beginning to suck!!

TO MICHELLE: Sorry, I didn’t notice your post earlier or I would have replied to you. Does this diet make you moody? HELL NO BCH!! ooopps…sorry…nope not moody at all. Combine it with andro…and let me tell you…that Limp Biscuit song “Just one of those days” becomes a damn reality!! then add in that after 2 or 3 days you don’t see a pump anymore…THEN add in that the MD-6 if taken in 4 capsule servings makes you jittery…and what do you have…a MOODY JITTERY ANGRY NASTY person with $%^$##^ HUNGER PAINS!!! Fortunatly, after about the first week a lot of the worst parts go away…or you just get used to them. I am on day 10 and to be honest…have almost gotten used to this diet except for the lack of pump…foo-foos in the gym–spilled bottles of Nandro…nope…doing JUST fine thank you…I am quite ok…really…just LEAVE ME THE %^&%$$$ ALONE!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! LOL…Go for it Michelle…thats what this forum is for!! (PS was only kidding about the BCH part…my attempt at humor)

Muslhead, I had a horrible cramp in my abs too. If someone could tell me something I’m missing great. I take Biotest Protein, a multi, and flax oil of course.

starting day 4 here… going great… actually alot easier than i thought… my stomach feels tighter and my face is thinner… at night i get alot more tired earlier though… and my mental focus isn’t quite as sharp… but… who cares… i’m losing fat! :slight_smile:
