I’ve got two that I always thought were pretty cool:

“Though I’m still far from perfection.
I stay relevant, I’m still vigilante.
I have so much more to say.
I have so much more to fight for.
I’ve used your lack of inspiration.
As my awakening, its my ability to live forever
By my own command.
To be vehement, remain confident.
Doubt me, Hate me
You’re the inspiration I need
You’re all the inspiration I need.
Your doubt, it fuels me.
Your hate, it drives me.
The challenge ignites me.
You make me fight harder.”

And:

“Determination: What will you do…when your body screams stop?
Discipline: That which divides those who will…from those who can.
Focus: To conquer the body, you must first conquer the mind.
Failure: The point at which the strong, have just begun.
Leg day: Just when you thought you knew true pain…
The Secret: Insane work ethic, willingness to sacrifice, and an unquenchable desire.”

I think it is always important to stress to athletes the differnece between ‘Commitment’ and ‘Involvement’. I want ‘Commitment’ from my athletes not just ‘Involvement’ you see athletes and teams that committed throw everything at an event/competition/game only to meet some sort of obstacle or problem who then start to become mearly involved, and begin to mearly begin watching what is going on.

I’ll give you an example of what I mean…think bacon and eggs for breakfast. Now think what the pig had to do with producing it, and what the chicken had to do with it. The chicken was ‘involved’, sure, but the pig…the pig was COMMITTED!

A new that I heard last night while watching The Rock, worked well for me in the gym today.

“I’ll do my best.”

“Your best? Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen.”
