The kid’s 18 and ate far too many carbs for his bodytype.
Who here knew at 18 what macronutrient breakdown suited their particular body??
Not many, I bet.
So the kid looks like shit. It will hopefully be a powerful lesson for him and he’ll use it to his advantage.
Agreed. Some of them act like you aren’t supposed to make mistakes.
The ones making the mistakes and learning from them will always see more progress than those in fear of making mistakes so they sit around afraid to try anything. That kid gained a lot of fat. He also gained about 70lbs in one year. I would question his actual work ethic and training intensity way before I would question his eating habits. Someone at that age should have gained much more muscle mass in that time period no matter what they ate as long as they were gaining weight at a sane rate.
The point is, it took a whole year and a thread on a message board for him to realize that something was lacking. I agree with what you said about the mistakes… but when that mistake takes a year for it to be even realized as being a mistake, there is something questionable about his mentality.
After 6 months of looking the same (albeit fatter), shouldn’t one analyse the situation and try and figure out what’s wrong?
Do you have any pics posted anywhere? If so, where? If not, why?
Man, I feel bad for that guy. Luckily when I first started lifting two years ago I was a fat kid, and instead of eating too much I didn’t really eat anything at all, so I got fairly cut and had a decent base to start on now that I’ve discovered tnation and actually have an idea as to what I’m doing with my diet trying to bulk fairly cleanly.
He did eventually end up making a little bit of progress, but nothing that exceeded average.
And by average, I mean average for a sedentary person who does nothing. Not average for someone who lifts weights.
I guess he just never got it right.
wonder if he ended up killing himself after all that abuse he took since it seems like he never posted on that site again after that travesty.

I guess by “it seems like he never posted on that site again”, you meant “I didn’t bother even for 10 seconds to look and see if that is true or not”.
He has continued posting consistently on that site, his most recent being in 09/2009, and has made several threads about his updated progress.
But I guess making a joke about teen suicide was too good to pass up for something like reality?

Yeah, my bad. Its good hes making progress
It would’ve probably helped if the kid didn’t do that Most Muscular pose. I think that one’s hard to pull of if you’re not looking really good.
It should be common sense that your chest/shoulder/leg measurements should increase substantially more than your waist measurement during a bulk.
Yeah, it should… but it isn’t. Common sense has something to do with personality, perceiving and some experience. Not all people have a common sense, or will not even develop one.
