How much extra fat do you regularly carry around X?
his thread was hilarious, but not as hilarious as kingkhan.

How ever much I can fit in this. I HATE to get my “extra fat” mixed up with my “extra man eye liner” and I never have room for it in my “extra skinny low cut jeans”.
At least all your fat is functional then.

Yeah, I was thinkin he probably just doesn’t know how to train effectively. You would think most guys who would actually eat like that for a year would also be willing to work hard. I bet he just doesn’t know how. Somebody like this is a welcome break from all these fat phobic scarecrows we’re usually treated to around here.
Is it possible there’s been a sighting of a specimen that actually has too LITTLE information? Wouldn’t that be freaky.
I read somewhere, that now, like a year later from that post, he is still only benching roughly 135lb. That is the biggest (and possibly only) problem he had. He just didn’t seem to grasp that he needed to get a hell of a lot stronger, in order to get bigger. He probably read Flex or something on ‘pumuping up’ or did lots of supersets and drop-sets etc but failed to see the bigger picture.
It’s unfortunate.
Anybody wanna fill me in on what the hell wheatbix are? Is that a cereal or something?
The first time I started bulking, I wasn’t fully sucessful but I sure as hell did a lot better than that guy. I honestly feel bad for the guy.

My first time bulking I was pretty succesful I gained about 30 pounds and I dropped like 2-3% bodyfat. In like 7 months.

While I wouldn’t consider Flex mag one of the best out there, I haven’t seen even one of the major bodybuilding mags that has ever implied that you get big without getting much stronger. If anything is giving that idea, it is the tons of ridiculous opinion riddled articles that make comments about huge pro bodybuilders barely being able to lift 35lbs dumbbells. You can blame some of the authors HERE for that as well.
A few of them have made big efforts to make it seem as if huge bodybuilders aren’t strong or aren’t “functional”. That will do far more damage than some random page in a bodybuilding magazine about how Mr. Olympia trains.

I agree.
If anything, then the mags do not mention the need for progression enough… But they never say that you can get big by lifting the same weight for years.

My first time, I ate everything in sight. I got fatter considering I went from 200-250lbs at 6’4’’ but to be honest I didn’t care at that point. I just wanted to get bigger at whatever the cost. I know more this time and when I bulk again I’ll obviously be more clean.
Everybody starts off somewhere, but this guy is a joke. It looks like he never even asked a question and just decided to eat more and start going to a gym without any consideration of anything. What a joke.
Not to mention that one only needs to take a quick look at the pictures of pros lifting in the mags to see that they are usually using some impressive weight.
I guess some people must think that the fact that you see pictures of Kevin Levrone doing lying triceps extensions with 250 lbs on the bar (plus around 20 lbs for your average ez-curl bar) or Lee Preist doing incline DB bench with 150 lb DB’s is just a coincidence. Ok, so those are older examples (haven’t bought a muscle mag in a while lol), but I seriously doubt you see anything different nowadays.
Reading articles is fine, new information can be good, as long as you don’t stop using your own brain in the process.
I blame my first couple years of “wasted” training on just being mis-informed. I started over there at bb.com back in 05 and they have a lot of horrible articles that took me the wrong dirrection. Now they have a great Rippetoe FAQ sticky in their workout program forum that shows these kids how to do things right. If I knew then what I know now I would be frekin’ hyyyooogge. Oh well no use crying over spilled milk.
Is it any worse than the people you see on here with stats like
“height: 6’
weight: 155lbs
years training: 13”
?
And then they post a picture of themselves, after 13 years of “training”, asking if they should cut or bulk. hmmm.

it’s a breakfast cereal in australia, there wheat rectangles. pretty popular
His progress isn’t much worse then most random gym guys… the progress I see from gym people is pathetic since everyone is afraid to lift heavy. This seems to be the same case, he ate a lot but did not seem to lift any weight in that year in a half.
Even if he ate like shit and at least lifted hard and heavy on a solid program he would have made progress since he was 17 and full of natural test.
Diet is important but it doesn’t mean shit if your not putting in 100% effort in the gym also.

There’s this guy I see at the gym on occasion, he’s smaller than the average guy and has been coming to the gym for over 1 year (Well, I’ve seen him there for over a year anyway).
He’s now decided he will be taking steroids (as I hear through the grapevine). I’m going to piss myself laughing when he inevitably fails.
Seems the failed-bulk guy at least got one part down, he might learn from it and start lifting properly. But who knows.

Aren’t you like 17? Not dogging you, but increased T levels during that time probably played a huge role. Mine didn’t hit till I turned 18, 25 lbs in 3 months, lol and I didn’t really change my eating much at all

Are you fucking kidding me? That kid took a whole YEAR of training and shitty diet and turned himself into a fat blob. How can anyone with a shred of common sense and intelligence fail to see a complete lack of progress liek that?
He also completely ignored anyones advice to keep on bulking but with a cleaner diet, cardio and new program, and instead went cutting and is now exactly back to square 1.
No I’m not fucking kidding you. Who cares that he failed, at least he fucking tried. That’s better than 98% of america’s 18 years old kids. What have you accomplished that gives you the right to judge people like that?
This phrase is overused, but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, I hope that guy keeps trying and one day meets his goals.
Sorry for dragging this back in.

If this is the same style as your wheelbarrow it’s no wonder the folks at the Chinese buffet lock the doors when they see you comin.
