Lets say your still a bit sore from the arm workout the other day, yet you decide you wanna get a little hammered as there’s nothing else to do at the moment! So you go ahead, and have about 250ml of vodka with some black grape juice, and conclude the session with four cans of beer (small).
How counter-productive is it to workout the next day? I’m guessing its not very wise, as its been only 12 hours or so, and during that timeframe your blood-alcohol levels are still pretty high right?
I am not sure how gains will be affected, although I know the vodka + beer will make you feel like shit the next morning after a sore arms day. I did the same thing once after a leg day but replace vodka with irish whiskey and small beer with guiness.
The thing about working out after a night of drinking is you could get injured and not know it. You still have alcohol in your system and acts sort of like an anestethic or pain killer, so when you go train you may have done damage and not know it and you work out through it causing more damage. Also remember your body is not firing right, all your muscles are sluggish, to risky to train, wait a day.
im a somewhat kind of athlete looking to improve my physique(5 10/170/ecto)
looking to put on more muscle mass. so im looking for some advice or an awesome program to follow. im also taking purple k before and after my workouts, any other suggestions for supplements?
Unless I’m so hungover I can’t move, I go lift anyway. Obviously I am not still effected by alcohol and it won’t be the most intense session in the history of lifting weights but I feel if you do the damage you need to start making up for it as soon as possible.
this thread is retarded. if you feel good enough to go lift, then go lift. there is not going to be much alcohol left in your system 12 hours after such a mirly night of drinking.
