Essential Foods For Bulking

What foods would you class as essential for a person tryin to put on weight and when should these foods be eaten?

Protein, carbs and fat

Seriously, you are way overthinking this. You know what are good foods, they are listed all over this website, eat them and lots every 2-3 hours. If you are having trouble gaining weight, loosen up and eat some not so clean foods. If you are getting too fat, reign it in and eat less.

Cake, ice cream, cheesecake, cream puffs, pizza, bacon cheeseburgers…

Seriously, like Matt said good old healthy whole foods protein, good fats and carbs. Bulking just means an excess or surplus of calories to support muscle repair and growth.

Whole milk, steak, eggs.

nuts are very calorie dense. add cheese and olive oil to some meals for extra calories.

I don’t know what type of info your looking for. you may want to look at some of the nutrition articles if you want to know all the healthy foods you should be eating them.

Ground oats and flax meal thrown into a shake are quick, easy and clean.

Whole milk, eggs and ground beef are all staples as well.

Agreed if this is your first bulk, don’t be afraid of fried potatoes once in a while. I made a lot of meat+ fried potatoes/hashbrowns on my first bulk for meals and I grew a lot. On my next bulk however I will be going a bit cleaner, just because of powerlifting and having to cut more excess weight isn’t fun.

STEEL CUT OATMEAL! I eat it almost everyday. It’s good shit. I can’t eat the instant stuff…it lacks the body and texture of the steel cut kind.
