Enter Your BID For a T-Cell!

Don’t know if this has been recommended, but what about a T-Cell Pervert for guys and girls that like to post pics of their wives and girlfriends and random hot girls and exchange information about interacting with women and information about sex in general and are tired of dealing with idiots that want to ask about how to grow your penis bigger and telling you your wife would be really hot with bigger boobs?

Electronic feudalism?

All this seperating into our own little cells seems to me to be similar to feudalism, where we retreat inside our castle walls and associate only with our own little group.

I propose, therefore, a T-Cell devoted to Nietzsche and Ayn Rand. This T-cell will breakdown all castle walls, kind of like the Gunpowder Revolution.

What about a gay forum?

As far as I am aware homosexuals make up around 10% of the population, that is a rather large proportion of people that may enjoy having their own T-Cell.

If you wish to be more specific how about a gay bodybuilders cell.

Maybe feudalism is just what the doctor ordered. It DID keep europe from collapsing for several hundred years. Remember, the castles were there to protect evrything around it, and when times got bad EVERYONE came in. I think the t-cells will help preserve everything around it. Maybe Im a dreamer.

Why not?
It’s a joke. Beta’s are typically followers, not leaders.

I’ll agree to that!

Now, having a T-Cell for “Women” wouldn’t make a good T-Cell. It’s too general. However, having one for “Left-Handed Female Powerlifters from Milwaukee” might work.
Change Milwaukee to Columbus, and this one has my vote.

Is there any need for any further “cells”? I thought it was only the Bodybuilding forum being inundated with stupid posts.

Are there similar problems in any of the other forums?

This single “T-Cell” seems to fit the bill nicely at the moment. Everyone is free to post bodybuilding related stuff without fear of some dolt arguing as to the benefits of “functional training” or “combat pyramids?”.

As one of the poor souls who can merely read the posts in the new “T-Cell” it makes my browsing a whole lot easier. It also seems to have brought a lot of dormant long-term members out to join in the forums again.

Ah. Well I just thought it would be a good way to weed out the bad seed.

I always liked the idea of having a rating system (yes, I know we tried this before) then being able to hide any posts below a certain rating. (Which we did not try.) Then everybody could post, but we could also choose what level of stupidity each of us would tolerate reading. Once a post was voted low enough, it would effectively drop off the radar unless you adjusted your threshold low enough to see it.

It’s not a bad idea. It’s actually similar to what Prof. X (I think it was him) wanted to with T-Cell Alpha.

I’d like to have a competitive athletes or sports performance forum to post in.

I play/train year round for a team sport. It would be nice to have a place to go and talk w/others who are interested in sports performance (football, hoops, soccer, track, baseball, etc.)

Like “strength sports”?

ProfX,

No, strength sports seems more for guys/gals who do PLO, OLY, strongman.

I’m talking about sports performance for serious athletes in a team sport like football, hoops, baseball, etc.

I know what you meant. I just think many are coming with different names for stuff that is already here or damn close to it.

The only reason what you mentioned isn’t talked about in majority in Strength Sports is because THERE AREN’T THAT MANY OF YOU HERE. The ones that are have posted in that forum with no problems. They also usually get good advice from what I’ve seen.

That doesn’t mean your idea is no good. I am just saying most of this stuff is already here whether it has that specific name or not.

I think one T-Cell is enough right now. I think there are way too many forums available as is, and we don’t need to keep adding to the list of potential places to post.

Most fitness/bodybuilding sites are getting out of hand by offering too many choices and forums. Look at Precision Nutrition. It started with several basic forums and now has grown so much that I don’t even bother posting because I’m not sure where to post some things because several forums could be combined into one to begin with.

Go to Ross Training and see how many forums they have. It’s general enough to include the most important topics/areas without being cluttered.

T-Nation is trying to appeal to too many audiences and is offering too many forums as is. All it does is water down the trolling from being in one concentrated area to now covering every forum with bits and pieces of trash.

I also wish the creation of the T-Cell Alpha had been restricted to “T-Nation vets.” People who have been here since the beginning (or at least SEVERAL years) and have actually posted useful thoughts and information on the forums.

I think there are already too many new people in the T-Cell forum that I have never seen post before. No offense to those guys, as I’m sure someone invited them for a reason, but I’d rather it had start with us “old timers” and have grown from there.

[begin rant]

I’m sure there are plenty of people who would question why I’m a member of T-Cell Alpha not due to the fact that I’ve been around since the beginning (before there was a forum!) but due to my size. But I guarantee that many of my posts, ideas and suggestions have actually been useful even if I’m not a 200lb guy at single digit bodyfat.

Charles Staley has said not to judge a coach by how he looks but with what he accomplishes. I definitely won’t win any bodybuilding trophies or powerlifting contests, but I can hold my own in any endeavor, and I can coach and help others very, very well.

Just sayin’.

[/end rant]

ProfX,

I totally disagree that there aren’t many of us out here. I dont have the stats/numbers but I have to believe there are more competitve athletes playing organized sports than there are folks doing competitive bodybuilding or powerlifting, oly, etc.

I bet if there was a sports performance forum, it would be very popular (and appreciated). Build it and they will come.

I realise that there’s folks here who want T nation/Biotest to be as exclusive as possible, but the bigger the tent they build, the more potential customers they’ll attract. It makes good business sense.

I’m of the opinion that the more foums(ie options) the better- let everyone find their niche(s). There’s an off topic, a sex forum, a political forum, a photo/vanity forum, etc. I don’t think a sports performance/competitive athletes forum would damage the site’s integrity.

Think about though, how many “vets” are even left? There may be some who read the site, but there are very few regular posters who have been here since even 2000. Most of the others left.

There may be a few still around that check in but just don’t post anymore.

But you don’t know until they decide to get online and check out the forums. I doubt we’ll see Patricia, Goldberg and several of the others again, but I think there are a few more of them out there and plenty more that have been around since 2003 or earlier.

By no means a vet, but I’ve been around for a bit. ( This is my second username ). This place isn’t the same. I used to not let a day go by without reading the forums. I think this is the first time I’ve read them in two months. There’s just too much garbage to wade through. Now I just log on to buy my stuff, read a couple of articles, and don’t even bother with the forums, and I bet I’m not alone.

I’m looking forward to Alpha. Hopefully it will be the condensed, solid knowledge that I used to love.
