T-Cell Alpha: Topic Request

Founding T-Cell Members:

I have a request.

It’s pretty obvious to anyone frequenting the site that the V-Diet is controversial (Does it work, is it healthy, who is it for, etc.).

Some of the ‘vets’ agree that it is a useful tool in the bodybuilding/bodytransformation toolbox. Some won’t touch it with a 7-foot Olympic bar.

Having said that, give us alternatives to ‘getting shredded’, or alternatively, adding muscle without gaining tons of fat in the process.

I would like to see a thread(s) where T-Call Alpha members

  1. discuss your diets.
    That is, your
    a) diet-down diets, and
    b) ‘clean’ bulking diets (ie not “just eat everything”).

  2. Walk the walk: Show T-Nation how you do it.

What are you doing these days? Contest prep? Strength increase? Cutting? Put on your on “Physique Clinic”. Log your diet and training routine (at least for awhile). Give us a window into your experience.

Sure, you may have done things differently to get where you are, but you still have goals to work toward. At any given time I would think that some of you are trying to get bigger, get stronger, or lose fat (or, even other goals).

I think given that many of you are Level 4 or so consumers of Biotest, there is some value to Biotest. They get to showcase regular people using their products in a real context supplementing their real-food diets.

Thank you for your consideration.

Jehovasfitness and Otep – Thanks for your training posts.

What are your overall goals for what you’re doing right now?

Otep-- any chance of pics?

I’m starting to bone up on a clean strength/bulk phase. I’m down 70# from two years ago which includes about a 7 month down time from an injury. I am scared to death that I’ll just get overfat again trying to eat enough to put on some extra muscle.

In June, I’ll probably post my whole journey-- it involves a lot of iron and sweat

Thanks for the window into your training.

Any other T-Cell Alphas?

And here in lies one of the problems with T-Cells, people who are not members posting to the T-Cell members in another forum.

No disrespect to you Steely its a fine post and a grand question, I just think it highlights one of the problems of T-Cells.

How? He’s asking the vets for advice. Instead of addressing it to one vet and only getting a narrow view, it is addressed to many to give a considered response. A response that is up for debate from those who have lived in the trenches, and not subject to 15 year old’s and 150lb guys saying… “but John Berardi says this so you’re wrong”.

I would love to see a thread where only vets discuss their cutting diet. And of course, their stats when they’re cutting… Meaning bigger dudes need more calories regardless…

I was actually gonna start a thread about this in the T-Cell because I’m gonna be dieting down soon enough and wanted some feed back. I might do it in the AM.

He is posting a thread to the T-Cell, but as non member he is posting it outside of the T-Cell, the GAL forum could end up full of these posts from non T-Cell members.

Steely, I’ll post pics when I’m done. I’ve got before pics, but I’m pretty sure I’d get flamed to shit if I posted them. They’re not bad… just unremarkable. The after pics should be up by mid-July. You can hold me to that. They’ll be in the Physique and Performance forum with the tagline ‘Grateful’, because Caveman was the shit.

I tried to start the thread because I thought it was interesting. I wish the other members would answer the original question, instead of talking about the Gironda quote.

I’ll second… msd0060… where did you get that handle? That’s just crazy… his point about wanting the specifics to the bigger guys cutting diets. Dunno if you’ve been following it, but ProfX claims to have dropped a ton of muscle while trying the v-diet. I kinda wanna know how much he usually cuts on.

Hanley nails it (previous post).

Hanley, I’ve been following your log. Great work, very interesting and relevant (to me). Looking forward to the diet portion.

Otep - OK, I’ll hold you to that  For kicks, I’ll PM pics where I am right now, let me know what ya think. I’d like to see Prof’s diet down as well.

Thanks!

Well, if the T-cell people are really the good people they’re supposed to be, they’ll still check out the regular forums and grant any worthy request from the regular guys. That seems to be the case, IMO.

Meh. Reasonable request begets reasonable response. As long as we don’t get flooded with requests for stupid shit, it seems OK to me.

I woulda said GAL (when I first read it I thought “girl” and was like WTF are we talking about MWA…?) was the best place for this tho… I see where you’re coming from tho. It could get out of hand very quickly. What’s the solution? A new forum for requests? PM a member? both have their flaws.

As a guy, who is currently trying to cut down to 150-155 to start a clean bulk, I’d love to read how experienced individuals go about it. I’ve seen some posts with good, clean mass gains and others who basically just looked fat afterwards. I think it would end up being one of the most insightful things on this website.
