TC howabout one for women?

E-Cell Omega

E is for Estrogen.

Omega, from the Greek Alphabet. The word literally means “great O”. That which all women seek!

OK, I’m kinda joking about the name but I do like E-Cell rather than T-Cell for us women.

For women who like to lift heavy which is anything that is not plastic coated and colored. Doesn’t matter who, what, where, when how or why they lift. Free weights, children, kettle balls, machines, general fitness, bodybuilding, mma, crossfit, powerlifting, whatever. Those things can be topics within the E-Cell. For the sake of sharing and educating not judging and criticizing. Hopefully : )

You mean, like the Muscle Sorority forum that already exists?

Similar but different. More like Powerful Women actually. Muscle Sorority is over at MWA which has a target audience of Fitness and Figure. I have T-Nation bookmarked not MWA. I find far more information that is useful to me over here so this is where I spend my time. I relate far more to this side than the other but do not really feel all that welcome in the forums as a female. Would be nice to have a cell for like minded women over here.

Dude, you can see the muscle sorority in the options under “Customize”. That means it is here as well.

Did I miss something or maybe I did not make my point clearly. My point was more about content than location. I was merely pointing out the difference in content between Testosterone and MWA. I am aware of MWA, Muscle Sorority, and Powerful Women. Thanks for pointing it out to me. A Cell for women would still be nice. A cell is different. That’s all. TC made a request and I responded. : )
Maybe if there were a specific issue for women’s training, but not just a general woman’s T-Cell. This is TESTOSTERONE nation, not Estrogen. Try to remember the host.

And in the first post TC even mentioned that the T-Cells should not be general but geared towards something specific.

Us women do have two forums. These forums are very well moderated to keep the trolls out. Also chock full of great competitors and coaches. We even get to hang out in the guy’s area and knock out ideas. We kind of have the best of both worlds so far.

I think its fine the way it is, people are really just asking for more of the same thing.

However there aren’t any forums for powerlifting, strength sports covers way to many topics. It would be nice to have just a powerlifting one.

I also am against having my log in the training logs forum, like stated it was there to get advice from other people who are doing the same thing. In the training logs thread it will probably go unnoticed, and if it doesn’t the people who see it wont necessarily be able to help me.

Why just a specific issue? The T-Cell Alpha is for veteran bodybuilders isn’t it? A full subject not just a single issue. I suggested one for women lifters. TESTOSTERONE nation belongs to Biotest which sells products to both men and women. (Yes I have purchased their products just not as Bratt.) I thought women were welcome here by the company.

I thought my suggestion was neither too general nor too specific.

Why is my simple little suggestion being treated like I’m over stepping my bounds, being ungrateful, or asking for too much. None of those was my intention nor did I think it was even implied. Wow! 2 whole forums! How could I dare ask for more. Suggesting a cell, which is different from the current forums, does not mean I do not appreciate what is already here. I feel like a little girl who has just been patted on the head and told to run along and go play with my dolls and stay away from the boys playground. LOL Is it because I did not grovel enough and thank the boys for letting me be here before making the suggestion? And it’s coming from a woman too!

Seems this matter is being taken a little too seriously IMHO.

I like whores…

No.

There are power-lifters, recreational bodybuilders, competitors, complete beginners and college athletes that are now a part of that group…and many women that fall into all categories. No one is being kept out due to what they are interested in. The goal, however, is to keep it more serious than much of fluff going on in the rest of the forum while NOT degrading bodybuilding like has been going on with complete disregard lately.

Whether that succeeds or not is yet to be seen.

Wait. How would you know if you’re invited in?

You’ll get a PM from T-Nation.

Do you plan on writing more “x-factor” posts? I liked the original.

Sorry it is coming across that way.

As you can see I quoted TC’s post. I was only saying you needed to be more specific as you proposed exactly what it was that TC said was too specific.

And probably no one on here would accuse me of being a toady to the boys. although I am a big fan to some of them. I am pretty strident regarding women’s issues. You just don’t know me yet.

It was just that you weren’t being specific enough. We have 2 general woman’s forums and a whole web site, MWA.

I hope that cleared up where I was coming from. No insult or patronizing intended on my part.

Looks like someone here really doesn’t like the idea of a T-cell. I’ll just share.

Not to sound like a jackass, but the fact that the forum needs a T-cell says a lot about the mods and the serious guys here. In other forums, the dedicated ones know how to put the trolls in their place, and they get the job done. They also know how to turn trolls into respectable people.

Here, the trolls are just allowed to ramble and waste forum space. Nobody is making a stand against them, and the T-cell is the most prominent manifestation of this. Creating a T-cell is like going into exile, like giving up our motherland and independence to foreign invaders, and I think we should change this attitude.

I say let’s start a conquest to rid the forums of these trolls. Educate them. Make the mods more active. Hire more of the if we have to. Stop hiding from T-cells and bodybuilding bunkers. Make these forums the way we want them to be!
This board was lost the moment no one said anything against the authors’ degradation of bodybuilding. Once they turned their backs on the more serious aspects of this sport, every fan boy and clueless newbie felt they had a voice to say the same things.

If anyone is to blame here, it is them for being the prime examples. We are simply trying to clean up the mess after the fact.

Until we made a HUGE issue of this, we couldn’t even discuss bodybuilding in the bodybuilding forum of this site. We used to be able to discuss it EVERYWHERE on this site because this site USED TO BE a bodybuilding forum.

The people who run this site allowed it to get this far and that is why the T-Cell is even needed. They want to incorporate EVERYONE from the sad weekend warriors who think 14" arms are an accomplishment to the 130lbs kids jumping on the V-diet to get ripped.

They allowed this site to be watered down to this degree. If anything, the T-Cell is one last effort to see if the spirit that started this site is even still here at all.

Most of you should be cheering it on instead of bitching about it to this degree.

Yeah, I guess the T-cell is a step towards the right direction. Maybe you guys can gather your full strength there and reconquer these lands?

All declining empires put up walls. Think of the Great Wall of China, or Hadrian’s Wall in northern England.

Better than a wall is, I think, the Statue of Liberty, and some words written on it…

Both Hadrian’s Wall and the Great Wall were built during their empires’ primes, but I get your point. I wish there was a Statue of Liberty here as well…

Hey Prof. I’m sorry if my post fired you up. It was meant to inspire, not to criticize. Seeing your dedication to bodybuilding and the ideals of this site, it would be great if you could be a moderator yourself.

Or is it the easy way out when it comes to avoiding trolls? I think the mods can do better than that.

But they didn’t…for years. I am honestly wondering where your voice was while we were dealing with this.

Why the sudden interest by so many in raising Statues of Liberty when there was so much silence for so long?

I’m relatively new to this site so things didn’t sink in right away. I always thought of it as a minor annoyance, but the coming of the T-cell made things a lot clearer. Besides, I’m taking some rest from training, so I can think more about this forum stuff. Better late than never, I guess.

I think that’s a great idea. Is it possible to give the really dedicate members some mod powers?
