Another thing that sucks about logs is that the person who started the log thinks it’s their personal ‘log’ so they don’t want anyone juownking it up…well…it’s a public forum and just because you write:
Barney Miller Look-a-Like Girl Needs To Get Her Rear In Gear and Start teh V-Diet Like Last Week Log
doesn’t mean you own the ‘log’ and are immune to others writing, ‘hey butterpants…shave your eyebrows before you hit the gym’

I may start a blog as a thread in the future. But I don’t know if it would be an actual blog but a “Here is my week in review” What do you think of this program, kind of thing.
Is it that you folks don’t like the day to day, every day, ad infinitum aspect of the blogs?
I think you should start one with lots of bikini pics. I love those ones. Nothing like a pretty girl posting pictures of her scantily clad self and talking about training. It is like heaven on earth.

I’m taking notes on the correct thread construction
bikini pics - check
specific questions - check
daily food log - negative
specific nutrition question - check
daily training log - negative
specific training/lift question or scenario - check
I’ll add that a log can be good if several veterans are posting and helping out the person who started the log. That way, they can correct or prove otherwise to some tip that may be incorrect from a much less experienced lifter.
In your case crewpierce, your physique log is great. You mostly get questions that most of the time you know the answers since it’s CT who’s providing you with the information and can back you up if you have any doubts. Imagine if some inexperience lifter starts posting in your log with some nonsense.
Well, that person will pretty much look dumb since CT and other veterans will be reading their posts. I think such nonsense would occur less in a log if newbies knew their ‘best advice’ is not necessarily the greatest.

Alright, that was not the answer I was looking for. It was something more like this:
Any pics are good though for the log…Downwarddog put a pic of the hill she runs and bear (or turtle or some animal)crawls up…shows the person keeping the log is actually interested in what they’re doing, rather than writing:
bkfst: 2 egg whites
broccoli (I’m weird, I actually like
broccoli - hehe)
1 slice hoe wheat toast, crust removed
T-Nation should wipe out the blogs from the bodybuilding/Beginner/Strength forums and replace it with:
i) Training BlOG in profiles (hey they already have that!)
ii) And add to it a “mentoring” feature where they can request a single forum vet to review their diet/training log once every week or two to make sure they are on track.
Of course this would require additional coding, but could make for a neat experience, keep members accountable, and tighten the community and its values (and make sure that profile blogs aren’t forgotten about).
Just to elaborate on my second point; the mentor would be the only other person besides the mentored who could post on their profile blog. Limiting the number of mentors is a good idea because, like my dad always says, “Too much advice is like not enough.”
On the other hand, I’m sure T-Nation isn’t interested in investing more resources in features members chose not to use…

I think something like this would be more interesting:
bkfst: 2 turtles (no shell)
1 cup of dry grass (helps with my digestion :P)
1/2 cup of carrots
1 slice of white bread with crust
1 cup of green tea

That would be interesting. A couple of possibilities and different scenarios with this idea are coming to mind already.
The shame of it is the veterans are so sick of the same questions they probably won’t read a genuine log with a sincere request for direction.
The thing of it is…the answer to 99.5% of any loggers question is already on the site…like Prof. X said…it ain’t that difficult for beginners and if you’re advanced…you’re probably not looking to general InterNet idiots for advice…

stop that. There is nothing wrong with asking questions even if it has already been answered in an article. You can answer the question with a link to the article.
Just because you aren’t a newbie and a lost puppy now, have a little sympathy for those who are true newbies and want a start, a point or shove in the right direction.

Like sen say said, some question are repeated so many times, they should have a FAQ section. The veterans are just sick of giving the same response to the same questions. Just playing OG.
I think the difference is when the OP really shows concern and wants to make an improvement. Not taking criticism the wrong way and just having an overall good attitude. This is when I don’t mind repeating myself.

You don’t really need a log of your training life(or lack thereof) to ask a few questions. I don’t think anyone here is advocating the total removal of all curiosity from beginners, it’s just that as said, a full detailed diary of their daily life isn’t required for some veterans to give them the push they may need.
The mass amount of logs almost suggests that these people are afraid to just ask questions, and need the format of “here’s what I’m doing(wrong) come look!” to get any feedback. The way some of them react to criticism correlates pretty well to that suggestion =/

How about a courtesy flush?
I had to stop taking fish oil caps. It got to where I’d reek and I knew it, esp after a workout. It WAS terrible.
Doesn’t matter how often you flush; I’d have the door closed in the bathroom at the far end of the house, with the ventilation fan going… AND IT WAS STILL TERRIBLE.

I am starting to agree with the blogs of everything people do in the gym is getting annoying. At the end of the blog the whole lesson learned is; “I worked out consistently, I did it hard, I gained muscle”. There isn’t very much there. Not only that but some of these blogs (which I will not mention) seem to be a big joke as far as how much progress they are making.
