Thanks alot for that man!. I think il replace mondays bench press with close grip. My chest still gets worked a decent degree and my triceps get alot of work too compared to regular bench obviously.
Well im currently doing a bodybuilding split for a while. I’ve always been against them for a few reasons, but many many people have built a whole lotta mass so i thought, heck maybe see how it goes for a bit.
Any tips for dips to take out the front delts?
I do shoulders Friday…
What do you think of this for arms. I would probably switch out some exercises every now and then but ya. Got any suggestions?
Cable curls and pushdowns ( i like these first to flush the arms full of blood)
Chinups& dips
Pjr pullovers and dumbell dead stop hammer curls of thighs
Some kind of band work

offset dumbbell bicep curls

Also could alternate with these. Or put these on back day?
Leaning forward puts more stress on the chest and lessens front delt activation (it doesn’t completely cut it out if course)
If upright dips cause you pain or discomfort, forward leaning dips are a good alternative.
I’d go with the “switch when you stall”.- method
So, if you, for example, can’t progress on dead-stop hammer curls in two training sessions in a row (so you do, say 2x12x45lbs three times in a row) you switch it out to another exercise for the same muscle group. That could be zottmann curls or reverse grip curls in this case.
Your plan looks good to me, just do everything with intention and intensity.
I’d rather start with what you’ve planned now and switch these in when you stall on your hammer curls
If you start to notice that your current frequency is too low you could consider adding these on your back day. But before doing that you should seek for other places to improve on -exercise form, nutrition, rest etc.
I remember when I started going to the gym, I’d always try to curl the empty bar after training.
I believe it took me like three months to curl it for even one repetition.
It’s funny to think about it now, but back then it was serious business.
But yeah, get strong, get big and have fun doing so.
Yeah, nobody can stick to a program they really hate. Training should be enjoyable and usually stuff you enjoy doing is the stuff you’re willing to put work into. It’s really easy to half-ass stuff you don’t like.
Last night was depressed blah blah got 5 hours sleep, have a stomach ache and feel like total crap. Gonna be home soon so might sleep for an hour and see how i feel. Will probably skip gym today and do bench and deads tomorrow with some pumpey stuff instead of the usual full session
Its so frustrating though, i get Bs In english and Hass. If i actually tried i could easily get an A. I suck at science and maths though . I bust my ass in maths and today found out i got under 50% in my last test, which i studied for and did all my in class work. Im not even going to pass maths i hate school soo much.
I accidentally elbowed someone in rugby today in sport class, while going for a touchdown, didn’t even know and i elbowed this kid, everytime he had the ball since it wasnt full tackle only hold id run up stop and hed try run into me full force and i wouldn’t budge. Hes always threatening me but im civil so i try ignore it. anyways i got the touchdown , i rolled sat down on the ground then he sprinted up and started punching,so busted my nose i think. blood was everywhere, he got like ten punches in while i was sitting down crosslegged . The only good hit he got was the full force sprint punch to the nose but the rest were okay. He got suspended and i didn’t so thats a win, i got sent home. My shirt had lots of blood on it so i blended in with the other people dressed up halloween.
Shit man, time to split your time between strength and martial arts training?
You are down near Kwinana arnt you? There are some very rough areas south of Perth. I spent some time in Armadale and if I hadn’t gone to school in such a rough area here in qld, I would have been very shocked with the things I saw.
