Drinking Coke after a Workout

I can’t believe people sitting around worrying about shit like this when they aren’t extremely developed or at the very least fine tuning an already pro level competition physique.

Instead, we get guys who are afraid to gain weight who think protein alone is most important and that whole milk is bad acting like they need to eat like an Olympic hopeful right before they head out to the track.

It is as if you are missing key pieces to a very basic puzzle.

If the guy making this extremely complicated isn’t making the progress to justify that complexicity, yet people keeping it much more simple are making much more progress, why would the guy making it more complicated think his way is right?

Please, answer this one.

I refuse to drink diet soda. I am always weary of putting synthetic sweateners in my body. I rarely drink any soda at all. I drink water, milk and occasionally I’ll have a beer or red wine.

Healthy flavored drinks: maybee juice which does have a lot of sugar but at least you are getting vitamins along with it. Tea is also a good choice.

cant really answer that one since i dont know exactly who or what you are referring to. r u referring to me and u? meaning ur bigger? if so, yea this is true but not everyone wants to be huge… i bet with that physic in your avatar i would never have made it through special forces training… believe me on that!!

is bodybuilding really ALL about size? i think not… and i respect the amount of posts u have and im sure u know ur stuff no doubt…but isnt bodybuilding a science? and since this is a bodybuilding forum shouldnt we be allowed to discuss details like which milk to drink? and if ur not referring to me and u then y would u say im not making as much progress as someone else? u dont even know me so who can u compare me to?

Dude, the way to go from skinny to big is so simple I am sure I could write what it takes in less than 5 lines. It simply isn’t that complicated meaning the actual discussion of bodybuilding is going to be repetitive…until some brand new uninformed weight lifter starts regurgitating what they read somewhere in an attempt to make gaining muscle similar to what it takes to get a Space Shuttle from blue-print to space.

Besides, I get bored easily.

See P.X should’ve just ended after he said Calories then rode off to the dark.

E your not all that wrong in much you’ve said, but your totally missing Prof’s point.

** When trying to gain muscle total CALORIES is most important** (Not 35%protein calories 15% fat calories …or Protein every 2 hours immediately waking).

The propoganda your spitting is pretty important in terms of gaining a few lbs of muscle or losing a few lbs of fat here and there but are miniscule details in the big picture. If you eat 2500 calories every 2 hours across an 8 hour day, I will still gain more muscle then you if I’m training and eating 5000 in one or two meals. That’s the big picture.

So the coke advice is a small detail in the big picture. Calories and caffeine will help you recover from your workout, whether it’s from a coke or a shake. Protein IS IMPORTANT, BUT the 2gram difference in skim milk and whole milk is negligible.

last point
This is the internet, stop being so sensative. If he wants to make you seem like an imbucile, don’t ask him why he’s an asshole. FLAME HIM go to the gym laugh about it while you lifting weights and go eat a steak

true… true… it is hard work, but u still gotta have some sort of clue what u r doing… i admit, i dont know crap about bodybuilding… i base all my gains so far on hard work and determination… but it seems the more detail or more info i get on how to do what when or when to eat what and how it all works the more gains i see… just tryin to use every little trick in the book to help me reach my goals…

[quote]ebraunschweiler wrote:

No shit. Yet, for some unknown reason, when the big guy who did get through military training bigger than most of the guys I went in with and who has possibly gained more overall muscle on this board from start to finish than most here tells you how to approach it…you somehow don’t get the message.

That is what confuses me. I was ALL EARS to anyone bigger than me and stronger than me when I first started every time I hit the gym. Here you have someone trying to give you the perspective, someone who even has a strong medical background…and you argue against everything stated.

That makes no sense. That is why people like Bauer and many others no longer post here.

Now don’t get me wrong on this because I love beer but; beer is unfortunately high in estrogen/xenoestrogens. The Estrogens are mainly from the hopps. It won’t stop me from partaking in a couple beers every now and then but it’s just a tidbit of knowledge I thought I would share.

Red wine on the other hand has a lot of antioxidants.

Neither one is realy great for muscle building but If I had to choose the lesser of two evils I would choose red wine.

Now on taste alone Nothing beats a good IPA.

Hell Yes. Sucks that the very thing giving it that distinct flavor, extra hops, is what’s carrying the estrogen.

Most people see someone bigger and stronger and assume that they’re on the sauce and don’t actually have anything to contribute to normal guys.
