Who said anything about monetary limitations being the factor in what gym I attend? It’s not. You are, like Utah, blindly assuming things about someone’s situation and choices. Thing is where I train works for my PERSONAL situation the best. Under other circumstances, I would be (and have been) in a better equipped gym. I might also in the future.

Also, relating a trainers size to the amount of equipment the gym he attends has, is silly. To many posts on this site have stated that intensity, progression, and food are the biggest keys. To many people go to the big gyms and never progress. I don’t buy that arguement.

Edit: In choosing a gym, my first criteria isn’t “will I have to curl in the squat rack or not”.

Alright guy, you want to know why I am being a little short here? Do ya? You seem a little tender?..bad day?

It is because I am tired…sick and fucking tired of these types of threads in the fucking bodybuilding section.

This subject already has a 400 page thread dedicated to it?. on this fucking site no less! The OP could have typed “SRC” into the search key and up would have popped 8 fucking years worth of opinion on the subject.

So I am really quite sorry that I have offended your tender sensibilities, you are quite correct I do not know why somebody would have to curl in a squat rack, because if that is your only solution to that particular problem?.. then I totally understand why you would get butt hurt and me telling you that you are a FUCKING women.

Sorry again.

Good job on continuing to be a child.

Do them in the monolift instead. Then you don’t even have to step back.

You my friend are a FUCKING women, if this thread is not to your liking than GTFO. I start a new thread on something and I get your fucking ass telling me to use the search bar, I dig up an old thread on the subject and I get your fucking ass telling me not to dig up old threads.

I hope I work out in your gym one day and you want to do squats and my ass is in that fucking rack doing curls. Bet money you walk your ass right on by.

Peace,

My blood boils just by thought.

Just curious, but did you mean to recreate the “a fucking womEn” typo as a back handed insult, or was it just one of those freak instances where you see two identical cars parked next to each other?

[quote]1morerep wrote:

makes since…i don’t think many gyms have a line for the squat rack

Today I had to wait 15 minutes to squat cause this fucker was doing 100 rep sets of 95 pounds for barbell shrugs.

That my friend is two identical cars parked next to each other, and they both have the same dent in the front passenger side fender.

does your gym have a decline bench? if so, steal that bar and pick it up off the floor… because, lets be honest, almost no one does decline and usually that bar is on the floor so someone could do situps with a medacine ball anyways…

thats what I always did when i wanted to do deadlifts in my last gym and no one seemed to mind…

Yes is does, there is 4 flat 1 incline and 1 decline. I think I will start stealing the decline bar. But first time I see someone take the squat rack bar over to the decline I’m going to fucking kill someone.

I’d rip your head off and throw it against the wall if I was going to the gym to squat and saw you curling there.

Let me give show forth some of the ways of the weightlifters religion.

The squat rack is sacred ground…it is a place where heavy ass weight is moved…since there isn’t a human being on the face of the earth curling heavy ass weight then they don’t belong in the squat rack (no not even Ronnie Coleman and his 225lb curls)

If you chose to curl in the squat rack you break ritual and can cause the world to come to a complete end by pissing off the squat gods…or some big dood who is coming to the gym with one thing on his mind (SQUAT!) sees you it may be your last visit to the gym…

Find a bench and steal a bar from there then lift it off the bench or off the ground.

NO CURLING IN THE SQUAT RACK! NO EXCEPTIONS! NO EXCUSES! DONT DO IT!

I’m with UtahLama on this one…this thread does not belong in the bodybuilding section.

No offense OP but no curling in the squat rack…

DG

Gerdy, I respect the mindset of not curling in the squat rack. Hell, at my gym I’m one of about 4 guys who even squat. As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I usually take a bar from a flat bench as there are 2 of those. I’ve even had to ask someone to move to a bench so I could squat. A small inconvenience.

There are no preloaded bars or extra Oly bars so, if both benches are taken and no one is squating, I’m damn sure gonna curl there. It’s the ONLY option. If someone wants to squat, I’ll move. I’ve asked others to move, IF there was a place to go, so I will do the same.

My problem is with the holier-than-thou mentality that under no circumstances it shouldn’t be done. Those statements are made through the vision of your own gym where more than likely there ARE other options and you don’t have to deal with our particular situation.

While I’m a little ambivalent to whether or not this belongs in this forum or not, I originally chimed in for the sake of sympathizing with Rooster cause I’m in a similar situation.

But for Utah to come in actually PISSED and whining it’s here is silly. He was actually “sick and tired” of seeing this. Well, leave it alone. It’s just a thread. No reason to get upset about ANYTHING you don’t HAVE to read.

Where would you like this thread to appear? For future reference…

P.S. Ronnie can use my squat rack for whatever the fuck he wants:)

Well, jumping on a collective mindset bandwagon and not viewing the issue from another angle is easy. There have been a few short-sighted and irrational viewpoints displayed, I agree.

If I was at a gym with lots of extra bars of course, there would be NO EXCUSE, I agree. But that wasn’t really the topic.

I am going to talk to the gym management and let them know how pissed off it makes me that they don’t have at least one extra oly bar around, you should do the same.

Well, good luck. I have never had much luck asking for new equipment. i guess it doesn’t hurt to keep asking though.

Cueball: completely understand

Rooster: NO CURLING IN THE SQUAT RACK! lol jk

just don’t make the thread to be honest…there is no bodybuilding discussion about it or use to it besides to start discussion on who is taboo or not for curling in the squat rack.

I’m just playing…well serious if I saw you at my gym curling in the squat rack…but I’d probably be one of the nicer ones to you…

Ok so to rephrase…we got no beef unless your curling in MY squat rack…and in that case you better pray it’s not leg day for me. :stuck_out_tongue:

make sense? lol hopefully you don’t take all that personal and get your panties twisted over it…I have no probs with you…

DG

oh and even if ronnie curled in my squat rack I’d beat him down with a 45lb plate. lol

some things just shouldn’t be done…i don’t care who you are lol jk

Not meaning to brag but the new gym I joined has 4 squat racks :). Sadly I think I am the only one to use them lol.
