Dip max?

What is everyone’s best dip set?

Today I did 6 reps with 90 lbs strapped on and I weigh about 180.

I’ve got a buddy who says he can do 6 with 135 lbs.

I’m not sure what mine is, but if you’re looking for impressive dip numbers, John Roman does 150 lbs for 5x5…

85 lb. for five reps the first three sets of five. That was last summer before I screwed up my shoulder, got my nose broken and rebuilt, and had to start over. I weighed 196 or so then. I’m a tad over 6’1".

I weigh about 200 now and I’m back up to 50 lb. for 8 reps on a good day.

Just did 5X5 with 50 lbs. swinging between my legs. And I weigh 129 lbs.

I’ve been adding 5 lbs. every week for a while now.

120lbs for 5 at the end of ME bench day

A while back i did 100 lbs for 2 at 230.

+135lbs for 5 reps

I love the people that can strap 200 pounds to their 125 pound bodies and laugh as they watch me struggle with a couple plates for a couple reps. At least the chicks dig a tall guy or so my Mom has always told me.

200 lbs. X 2 reps @ 212 bodyweight a few years ago.

sully, you are the manimal. and to think i was quite chuffed with my effort, i might have to go pull my head out of my ass and do some tri work…

5x5’s with 120 lbs. a month ago.

The most I ever did was 190lbs of extra weight for 1 rep. I weighed 185 at the time. The Dip was full range, no half rep crap.

Never really tested my max but I did 100x6 a month ago when I weighed 165 at 5’7.

Yeah, Westside training got my tri’s pretty strong. Almost three years later I’d be interested to see what I could do, but dips and my shoulders don’t get along to well.

Ya know this gets me to thinking. Most people have been edjucated about proper form in the bench press. You know the types that always exagerate their numbers or cheat there asses off. But when they are 17 and they tell their friend they can bench 250, you know their friend is going to be there on his next bench day to see if he can do it. And if he cheats he will be called on it!! Now that I have said that there are many people who cheat on many exercises but I almost never ever see anyone do full range dips. Now this is nothing against anyone who has posted above. I’m sure you all did your dips till your fists were almost in your armpits but… From everything I have ever seen in every gym I have ever been too, almost no one does them right so an internet questionaire is meaningless. But sorry to be a party pooper and I hate to rant. Good Job guys!! I saw some great numbers! By they way, my best was 115 for 2 on my last set at 185.

100 for 2 reps, full range, and I weighed 210. I’m 18, so I’ll catch up to you guys.
