DC/Metro Area Etc T-Cell

How many of you guys train at Golds on Wilson Blvd?

I usually go to Gold’s on South Glebe Road, when I’m not in my living room with my kettlebells.

Well I have been past both those Golds Locations on various occasions but never been in. I love the looks of the Gals running away on the ellipticals in the A/C on beautiful days as I stroll or ride by on my bike. Just silly.

Anyway. I wanted to tell you all on my trip to costco last week they were setting up a display to sell Vitamix blenders. Not sure of the price as it wasn’t up yet but I am sure it is much less than usual. Oh it was the costco at Pentagon City.

Keep chiming in you all and lets maybe get something together. I am evenm worjking on the posibility of talking David Barr onto giving us a talk. Nothing in the works yet but Im trying

Do the hours you have to put in at work prevent you from getting to the gym on a regular basis? Did they when you were brand new on the job?

Actually, that’s why I invested in the kettlebells to begin with. If I’ve got a lot going on, or an early meeting/phone call scheduled, saving the 30 min. of travel time can be a big deal.

I always work out in the morning, 'cause I have a lot more control over that part of my day than I do over the ending.

Here’s an idea: Create a DC T-cell website where you could post meet times, all the good local Gyms to train at, which gocery stores have the cheapest tuna, etc. For example I know Trader Joe’s in Bailey’s crossroads has the cheapest frozen berries in the area and has a bag of flax meal for about 2 bucks.
hey great idea. I’m actually pretty decent with web design. Let me know what you guys want on it, and ill whip up a template and see how it goes with you guys. And from there, i’ll tweak it till it works.

TRIGWU, Im at GW aswell. What year are you?
Hey whazup - Im thinking about getting a masters of finance @ GWU - I haven’t checked anything out beyond the website and the rankings but the campus looks great. The corporate recruiting apparantly has some of the biggest names over there like goldman sachs - if ya know anything about the quality of the business programs you should give a hollar - later

I’m in Sterling, VA

not far from Herndon!!

and I used to go to High School in Arlington. what neighborhood in Arlington do you live in?

Not sure whom you were asking but I am on Columbia Pike near the Navy Annex in Arlington.

Wow I’m like 5 minuts away from you, I’m a senior at Watkinsmill Highschool.
Montgomery Village here too (although I’m in Cali for the rest of the summer and my enlistment…USMC). You work out at the Upper Montgomery County YMCA by any chance?

Nah, I got a home gym. A few of my buddies do though.

I know where that is. Funny thing is I’ve lived in the area most of my life.

Are we all getting together any time in the near future?

No plans as of yet, I think we are all still just chiming in and seeing who is in the area I guess.

Sooner or later I imagine one of us will take the initiative.

I say we arrange a T-Cell happy hour. Anyone interested can post suggestions on which local watering hole would work best.

Are we talking protein shakes or Michelob Ultra?

Real beer - so neither of those. Deep, dark, tasty beer. I’m a firm believer that any guy who can’t go out for a few brews now and then is taking both themselves and their training way too seriously.

I wouldnt be opposed to having a Guiness some early afternoon.

I dont partake often anymore but have one now and again. Wouldnt mind shooting a game or two of Stick either.

This could possibly lead to plans to actually get some cool shtuff planned.

Yeah, I’m actually a Sam Adams man myself…so good when it hits your lips…

Live in Frederick, work in Montgomery County (Rockville). There are a lot of us in that area, huh?
