Yeah, 5 minute walk…I’m across from the post office.

Montgomery Village here too (although I’m in Cali for the rest of the summer and my enlistment…USMC). You work out at the Upper Montgomery County YMCA by any chance?

Not me. They were actually too expensive with too little equipment. Enough equipment for a homegym but not for $75/month.

I’m at Fitness First. While not the best, it’s a good price for a good deal of locations in Montgomery & Frederick county. I’m big enough that I get left alone. Not really a big guy but when in the land of the blind the man with one dumbbell is king.

Anyone in the Baltimore area? I’m thinking of buying a house up in that area so am curious of any info.

I’m open to a nice, dark, beer…cigar too but that would have to be during my cheat cycle. As of now, I’ve been on a cheat cycle for about 17 years…lol

OK, i found out im going to be working in DC. where to live for a 22 yr old, wants to save some money, but not live with 1.5 hr commute or metro ride. be in a good area around some places to eat, shop, grocery, hang out etc. and a decent gym within 20 mins.

ill try to put up that website you guys were talking about.

THere are lots of places that fit your criteria, with the exception of “save some money.”

However, if you look on craigslist.org you may be able to find some good places to share with roommates, and that always helps to assuage the costs.

As far as DC goes, a really cool neighborhood is Adams Morgan, or right near there near the U Street Stop on the Green Line metro.

In VA, Ballston is a good area.

The main thing is whether you want to be within walking distance of a Metro stop. If you go further, you generally pay less – but then you get to ride the bus to the Metro (unless you’re driving to work).

Arlington on Columbia Pike isnt bad for $$$ IMO and very handy for Metro. Right near the Navy Annex quick bus ride or walk to the Pentagon and then you are train bound where ever you need to go.

Worth a look

Plus walking back from the Pentagon up the hill is always good GPP, especially if you got some gear with you.

BTW, here’s a tip you live on Columbia Pike near the Annex. If you’re at Reagon National and you need a quick/free ride home, just hop on the Sheraton shuttle when you see it and say you’re going to the hotal. When you get there just walk to your destination, try to slip out when no one is looking. That way you don’t have to hump up the hill from the Pentagon with your luggage, unless you need the conditioning.

Yes, I’m a cheap bastard.

DAMN Cezar Thanks for the tip.

That’ll save me some taxi cash. LOL

I am usually in no mood to walk at all after getting off a flight.

Well, I can’t wait 'til they extend the Orange Line out to Dulles – now that it’s been announced, that shouldn’t take more than 10 years or so, right? At any rate, I predict it will take slightly less time to complete that then it took Boston on the Big Dig.

I would go as far as predict it will take less time than the “BIG DIG,” However knowing this town they will make it SEEM like a much bigger accomplishment.

God forbid if a worker is to stub their toe let alone Die like in the “Big Dig.” That’ll stop construction for ages.

LOL, but yes it will be good once it’s done.

I lived in Gaithersburg MD until last week, and now I live in Herndon VA, and work in Arlington, just off of 66.

For the Germantown/Gaithersburg crowd: If you went to the Golds off of Muddy Branch in the evenings, you probably saw me. 6’3", beard, long braid, usually wore black shorts/tanktop, have a couple of snake-themed tattoos.

I am always up for a meet/workout. Especially if anyone has tires, sleds, and sandbags to play with.

I think we should all crash BostonBarrister’s wedding! Huzzah!

j/k… sort of.
