Damage Your Fingers From DLs?

When I was deadlifting today the tip of finger went numb, and 8 hours later it’s still numb. I’m hoping it will go back to normal eventually lol.

Soak it in some warm water.

You could have damaged a nerve, or squashed it at least. Very likely.

Do you wear gloves? If not wear them. If so, maybe your gloves have a seam that caused problems.

Take this numbness a little bit seriously and monitor it. It is probably nothing and will fix itself. If it doesn’t then maybe get it checked out.

Every time a weightlifter wears gloves, God kills a kitten.

Keep an eye on that for sure. Warm water soaks might help as someone already mentioned.

Gloves are for welding, using a chainsaw, ice fishing, and surgery.

Not weightlifting!

NEVER forget this!

F*k gloves just open and close you fingers 100 or so times and the circulation will come back. having a numb finger from deadlifting is awesome. you will be fine.

You know what sucks, having a numb forehead for 3 years from having a bullet glance off your helmet like my buddy byron. Can’t move his left eyebrow. But what’s awesome is he’s not dead :oD

So there’s some perspective for ya. You’ll be fine. put some ice rub on that finger if you want. that will get some blood into it. See if you can make one of your trap numb from squatting.

When I weld, do surgery, or ice fish, it is bare handed. However, when I lift, I do where wear gloves.

Well, Dedicated, you’re going about it all wrong then. In my opinion…

could just be coincidence. i thought my problem was related to deads, turns out i have carpsal tunnel. are the thumb index and half the middle finger numb?

Damn, next day and it’s still numb. I don’t think it is a coincidence because it started immediatly after a set of deads. It’s weird because I’m only at 275 on RDL’s. I can’t imagine how people can lift double this with their hands.

I’ve tried using hook grip on deadlifts and if I don’t have my thumbs placed “just so” the bar will squash directly onto a nerve. But that weird feeling will go away within an hour.

Hmm…I guess I just wanted to talk about myself. Good luck though!

But was he Dead Lifting at that time? Because that would be double awesome.

Double awesome is damn right. suppose he had a ruck on that’s like squatting. and he may have been DLing boxes of crazy east timorese RPG ammo (you’d be surprised how much of this shit there is out there, it’s like they have factorys making these things). All the while curling a sweet ass G36K all tricked with the Beta C mags.

so yeah double awesome
