CW's Next Big Three Program

Has anyone tried this? It looks pretty basic, but tough. I am thinking of decreasing my gym time with the start of a new job and this program looks intriguing

I would like to get a sense of what some others thought of the program.

I haven’t given it a fair run-though, but a buddy of mine did. He fell in love with the Waterbury (deadlift) walks. He managed to work them into his routines for the next 3 or 4 months. Other than that, I can’t say much, except, it’s CW, so it can’t be all that bad.

Good point, a CW program has never let me down in the past. I’ll give it a try starting sunday.

Another ? for anyone who has tried this. Have you lost fat? I have some HOT-ROX and was thinking of using it during a 4-6 week block of NB3.

Is this a good idea? Seems like it should work. Anyone have any experience?

CW recommends his NB3 for anyone on reduced calories primarily because doing too much volume while in a calorie deficit can caused overtraining and/or muscle loss. Given that HOT-ROX is supposed to have muscle sparing effects, you could probably get away with doing higher volume.
Now, if you’re looking for a good GPP circuit, NB3 is a good choice. I’ve done the exercises a few times in circuit fashion as CW suggests and it is a real lung buster. I thought that taking only 2 steps in the DL walk would be a piece of cake, but I about coughed up a lung doing it. It’s a great exercise. I also made the circuit harder by doing clean and jerks instead of the squat-press.

I was following NB3 few months ago, and results were really good. My deadlift went up, and so did my traps. all because of those deadlift walks, which are really brutal.
I just changed the press (don’t quite remember the prog now) with push jerk.

Overall great program.

Thanks for the responses to so. Sounds like a good program. I’m gonna get started tomorrow and see how it goes. I’m hoping to lose about 8-10 lbs. in 4 weeks. Hopefully I can keep my strength levels where they are.
