First off, whats your lifting stats? Squats and deadlift.

How long you’ve been lifting, what your goals are, etc…

well from a physique standpoint you don’t look good, continue to lose some weight. Arms and shoulders look alright

Why may I ask are you so fixated on knowing people’s lifting stats? I’ve noticed you ask this of every new person who posts here. It’s such an irrelevent question and has nothing to do with concept of “Rate My Physique”. How is knowing these numbers going to help you give this person advice on how to improve? All the time I see guys who are strong as hell but look like shit. And I on the other hand am not strong at all but look like I am which and that’s what’s most important to me ultimately. As I’m so fond of stating: “I don’t care how much I can bench…I only care about how much I LOOK like I can bench”.

And to the OP, I can see you have some size on your frame but are simply carrying wayyyyyy too much bodyfat. I’d really make an effort to tighted up your diet and include some HIIT into your regimen. You’ll be amazed how much bigger you’ll look in a lean state.

1morerep, you said it yourself. People with similar lifting stats often appear very different. This is more of a curiosity thing for me and helps give me an idea of the type of training they are doing.

Lifting stats, bodyweight, and height are all numbers that can help when giving advice. I don’t think it degrades the idea of “rate my physique” in any way. In fact, it provides us with an idea of how much weight people are moving around to achieve their size and physique. Doesn’t seem irrelevant to me. Moreover, I think the very point of this forum is to spread knowledge around the community – the more information the better!

As for the bodyfat, it seems like quite a few people have posted here recently with a solid muscle base, but with a lot of fat covering it up. Regardless of all of that, OP looks strong but his physique would benefit significantly by fixing his nutrition.

How did everyone else miss this part? Hes working on losing the bodyfat right now.

Looks like you are carrying a decent amount of muscle under the fat. I do realize you are losing and will add just keep it up. Once you melt that fat off it appears you will have a pretty solid muscular looking physique.

Take care,

D

i used to be fixated on lifting heavy weight
i used to keep a DOG CRAP training regiment
very nice for strength.
i started flat benches at 270
squat at 315(hate squats but know it is necessary)

i hurt my left shoulder and this was a very frustrating time for me.
i did every thing normal just gave up some weight.
im better now,i will cut down and hopefully look like im doing what im supposed to.
i appreciate all the words.i will use all of you as reliable sources,im well on my way,

1 more rep,i see you are from new york my uncle is a trainer/bodybuilder in Brooklyn.he trains at 5th ave gym,i big reason and inspiration for me
his name is chuck ferrugia

Only reason in my opinion to want to know lifting stats is to see that your proportional. Its a good way to show that your not too dominate in one area especially when you can’t see much muscle on this guy because of the high bodyfat.

wow i started out at 5th ave gym waaaaay back in 1982! so i don’t think there’s anyone still there from that far back. but that’s a real hardcore gym. there were some pretty big guys there when i was just starting out. but they were cool and would offer advice at times.

keep it up and good luck

i see some of us have a lot to say and no words of encouragement.file has no pics and just likes to talk.
at least see the potential and not the obvious.i thank those who are more understanding

You’ve definitely got some size going for you. Couple good months of dieting and you’ll be where you want to be.

Any relation to Jason Ferruggia? Im doing one of Jason’s programs right now and its kicking my ass.

Theres a good DC thread in the bodybuilding section that you might like to check out since you trained DC.

Forearms, biceps and shoulders are the standouts. Triceps look decent. Chest is hard to tell. Your back, though, looks like it belongs on a smaller man. I’d focus on getting that thing wider and thicker.

And I fully support asking (politely) for lifting stats, as it makes for interesting discussion and does have some relation to the physique we’re seeing. The original poster always has the option to decline answering.

he said like 270 bench and 315 squat I believe- squat was low because he is just starting them or something- If you don’t deadlift you should start though.

Take care of the shoulder and just take this year to clean up yoru diet, do more cardio and the fat will take care of itself. Keep getting stronger and 2009 will be your year.
