Has anyone had success with standing up after each rep on deadlifts? I noticed i can actually lift more this way. I take about 2 seconds to reset and get back down.
I like it quite alot actually was just wondering if anyone has had success with these or if anyone has found anything negative about doing your pulls this way?
It allows me to keep a good position instead of just getting into a horrible position and muscling the weight up.
I know i ask alot of deadlift questions…i love the deadlift. But if you dont wanna post on this subject then dont post. For those of you who do post and try to help me out i appreciate it.
If it works for you, don’t worry about everyone else. Do what works for you. I hear from everyone how touch and go deads don’t work, but once I ignored that and started training that way, my deadlift blew up.

Do you think i could do this full time? I pulled a max rep set like this and it felt nice 495x4 if i try the other way i can only get 485 for 3 if im lucky. My 1 rm seems to be getting better too. I wanna pull 600 some day. Maybe 650

Try it and see what happens. You may learn from the experience.
I reset like this on sumo, but tend to touch-and-go conventional. Not that I’m doing reps at the moment…
What do you mean “full” closed grip? You’re not going to go thumbless, surely? Overhand, do you mean? I always go mixed, right hand under.

I mean grabbing the bar with your hand closed some people put in in their fingertips or something[/quote]
I can’t imagine anyone who deadlifts a significant amount of weight does that on purpose. I’ve had the bar roll out onto my fingertips before, but it always starts in my hands.
I always use double over hand until i hit my final sets where it is to fucking hard, and go weak hand under. That hook grip shit never felt right then again I only tried it once lol. Resetting sounds good if it works for you, when I first started deadlifting I would touch n go, I think it makes your back stronger than resetting but it’s more tut so it seems harder to get more reps in than resetting, from my experience anyways.
they both have pros and cons like everything. Now I reset as well, reps are a bitch but It feels more like a legit deadlift. and not a couple inch bounce to lockout ahha.
