Coach Davies

I just had to write this post. During the last two weeks I went on vacation and did not have access to a computer. Prior to my vacation I was slowing down my regular T-mag forum visits. I was getting sick of the non-training related posts (how do you ask out women, etc.) and religious arguments. Tuesday I checked out the forum and was blown away. If you have any intrest in training look to your left and type in “Coach Davies”. Read everything he wrote. I just want to take the time to thank Coach Davies and Kato for their time and energy. These guys are HIGH SPEED, humble, and intelligent (besides being sadistic). I, for one, can’t wait for their training article. Between Coach Davies, John B., and Chris Shugart we have access to an unbelievable wealth of training knowledge. Thanks again guys for a job well done. Coach Davies I have tons of questions but will wait for the article prior to asking. Nate Dogg, thanks for the Coach Davies training summary.

Kali, I agree with you 100%. In fact I had done just that earlier today-did a search on Coach Davies and another one on Kato, pasted all of the results into a Word file and printed it out for easy access.

Glad to be of service Kali. Hey, I know you, me and many others are looking forward to Coach Davies article. If you are thinking about giving it a try, may I suggest that you start with the training programs he has been listing this week on the forum. I have completed two workouts so far. Today is an active rest day. And Thurs and Fri, he will post more workouts. Coach Davies said these workouts will help you build up to the one posted in his article! So check out the post on his workout article and start hitting it hardcore bro! You won’t regret it. Well, maybe you will once you finish and feel like you have been hit by a truck! But it sure does feel good to be in so much pain.

Nate dogg, I printed the workouts and read the thread but. . .like you I’m kind of in the middle of a cutting program right now. I just got done with the basic “Get Buffed” program and it produced great strength and mass gains. I took a week off all training and just started a cutting program this week. The program is six weeks long. What do you think, should I blow it off and start Coach Davies basic prep. plan next Monday? I guess I get psyched for a upcomming routine and don’t want the train to derail. Basically I am working towards a toughest cop boxing match (in Chicago) next March. Three two minute rounds (one minute rests), hopefully multiple fights, with 12 oz gloves! I’ve been involved in martial arts for twenty years with a solid boxing base but this match is basically anerobic and, I think, the most fit will survive. The problem is I weigh 210 with 10% bodyfat. That puts me in the heavyweight class with the 300+ Mammoths; I of course need to get safely under 200. Bottom line. . .cut now or cut later? although doing 2 hours of GPP will probably cut the fat. One last note, this morning I substituted glute ham raises for Romanian deadlifts, OUCH!

Kali, I would go ahead and start Coach Davies stuff now. Because it will have more functional carryover, which will help your upcoming competition. You will get leaner following his training program because you have to move at a quick pace! It’s hard to do, but that is the key to getting in condition. Like Coach Davies said, you have to work in a chaotic state. And by not letting your body rest, you do just that. I’m sure it will help you lean out, so that by the time competition is nearing, you won’t have much to lose. You’re better off losing a little at a time rather than dropping it last minute.

I had been cutting for a while, but now that I'm following Coach Davies program, I've had to start increasing my calories. But I'm not worried about gaining fat again because I know that this fast-paced, high volume, intense program will definitely shed more fat...and I'll be able to keep eating at the same time! It's the best of both worlds. So do it up my man! I think it will be better for you, especially with the competition coming up!

You got me! I’ll finish off this week and start fresh next week. Thanks for the imput!

I’ve put out a post for those who would like an oppotunity to train w/Coach Davies in Los Angeles. Any takers?

When you have questions, I will be pleased to answer. In faith, Coach Davies

Coach, I’m starting your “archaic” program on Monday. Between you and Kato all technical questions have been answered. Now all I have to do is go to Home Depot to stock up on sand and train my ass off. You mentioned a Chicago seminar, could you post the info? I live and work in the metro area. The only problem now is I spend two hours training and three hours reading the Forum a day and my work load is backing up, I guess sometimes you need “active rest” from work! Thanks again.
