Alright - I’ve been submission wrestling for a while and my joints are starting to become unbearable. I read the report about how Chronditin is supposedly better than Glucosamine because it doesn’t affect insulin sensitivity. So - my question is what is the best kind of Chronditin to get? (performance/price/etc)
None. The molecule is too large to be digested. Stay with glucosamine sulfate or glucosamine HCL.
What? Too large to be digested? Thats the first time I’ve ever heard that. Where did you get that info?
When I was looking into glucosamine supplements a few years ago, I saw all the chondroitin supp’s as well, and asked my chiro about it (yeah, he’s pretty well versed in supp’s). He said it didn’t survive the digestive process well, and VERY little of it is absorbed. Not worth it in my book. OTOH, you can try it, and if you find relief with it, good on ya. I’ve had good results from glucosamine.
Those of you who haven’t please read Cy Wilson’s Consumer Report about Glucosamine vs Chronditin in issue 154. If you already have, know better, or if that changes your opionion please let me know.
I’d respond to this but I need to keep my blood pressure down.
Actually a lot of MD’s will tell you that neither one of these supplements, glucosamine or chrondroitin, will survive the digestive process and help repair cartilage. Of course how is it going to help their business if the products do work?
Cy - I’m sorry if I offended you, the whole reason for me asking the first question was on the basis of reading your article. I was just wondering why they said that it wouldn’t survive the digestive process etc. I am not doubting you or your article in any way - you guys have been very helpful to me and I thank you. What kind do you use?
ttt for Cy
Just want to make sure Cy sees this. Thanks.
