I maxed out on deadlifts tonight… I can’t fit any more on the bar. I’m thinking of tying some on the ends with bungee cords like Bruce Willis in Unbreakable. Anyone know where i could get cheap weights in the UK?
If your using a standard bar then Tesco sell plates upto 10kg at about 70p/kg.
Other than that, Ebay and your local second hand paper if youve got one.
Tesco?Are you sure?
Tesco don’t sell weights, except maybe weights heavy enough to do hyperextensions with your cock. Does anyone know of a good site? I’ve searched all local ads and stuff. cheers
What size bar?
Standard or Olympic? Argos sells cheap standard plates.
yeah, 1" bar. For some reason, i didn’t think of argos. But even that is £30 for a 20kg plate! I just need some 25ks to get on my bar because i’m running out of space on the big lifts with my 10k plates. This stuff is expensive

Your going to have to shell out, maybe nows the time to either join a gym or buy an olympic bar & plates (look on ebay).
Ask for your next few months pocket money in advance or perform a stick up at the local post office, seriously how expensive can some dumb iron be???
I would have thought you could get an olympic bar and ~100kg’s of weight for ~150UKP or less if you looked hard enough.
I’m 23, and my mum is poorer than i am so that isn’t a good idea. Perhaps you could give me the address of some nice rich people from your fairytale world, and i could relieve them of taxable income? (So that they don’t have to put it into a trust, ya)
I’m unemployed but looking hard. I just want to work out. Iron is -£30 for 20kg. That is almost a week’s food shopping for me, which is my main expense, so it is costly. I tried to do what you said and no luck. I looked online, and in all local ‘for sale’ rags. More reps with the same weight i guess.
