You got a future in this man…

Call me ghey, but you are a pretty motherfucker.

haha

I think my genetics for the tear drop are pretty good from a shape/position standpoint…but I’d probably trade that for some calf size.

Nice to see you guys all posting your pics !

Ill try to contribute soon !

215 @ 5’9 right now, going for 230

What do you guys feel is the biggest challenge when you’re trying to bulk?

Eating enough?

Having some comments about getting fatter?

Not getting too fat?

Let’s hear it

Looking solid kingbeef, what do you do for your back?[/quote]

Thanks, holmes. Hmm, currently I’m training each bodypart once a week with high volume. For back right now I do 2 movements for width musculature and 2 for mid/upper back. Taking a break from heavy lower back intensive moves like barbell/tbar rows to better focus on bringing up quads/hams. This week I did:

100 Wide Grip Pull ups (chest to bar every rep) or 4x6-8 weighted chin ups
Neutral Grip Pulldowns 4x8-12
Seated rows (with a medium grip using the pulldown bar I get a nasty squeeze in the mid traps/rhomboids) 4x8-12
T-Bar Rows (I do these last with very light weight to save my lower back for my 2 leg days) 3x15-20
Rear delt exercise 4x10-15

I took the advices of Dorian Yates and started trying to hold the contracted position for a second and focusing on the negative part of the movements. Needless to say I had to lower the weight I use a bit, but now my back is actually getting sore again and is growing more.

Over the past few months I’ve been getting compliments from family/friends about how my shoulders are filling out and all that good stuff. But the other day I met up with a friend to study for finals and he said “Sup bro? You’re looking fat.”

So I laughed and said yeah thanks pussy. He used to give me shit for not being as strong as him (on the bench of course) but since I “got fat” I’m putting his bench to shame

I would say not getting too fat and trying to match food intake with workout intensity to get the right balance in the summer.Once fall begins i won’t even care because the shirts will be back on lol. Also if i feel fatigued after i workout i just eat until i feel nice and pumped up again.

LOL.

The only people that seem to make comments about being too fat are guys on this website. Other than that, I usually get positive comments regardless of how much fat I am carrying even though people seem to approach me more now that I am down in weight a little. I may get something like, “All you need to do now is lean up and you’ll be there” or something like that from guys whose opinions I trust but nothing negative.

Currently, my problem is eating enough…because even though I am not trying to go above 5 more pounds right now, it is like it takes even more food than before for me to gain any weight right now.

It’s strange. The same amount of food that was keeping me at around 25lbs heavier now won’t even hold my body weight.

I am guessing my metabolism sped up after dropping some fat…which I assume is because I didn’t lose much if any significant muscle mass during the process.

I would literally have to throw in more junk food to gain more weight right now…either that or quit my job so I can eat all day.

This is the problem I’ve had since high school.

For me the biggest challenge is training hard enough. I typically train by myself. I’ve got to really focus on beating the log book, because I don’t have anyone pushing me.

*Some of the best workouts I’ve had was with a buddy I went to college with (he is currently serving in the Navy), we would compete every workout. He had some crazy leg strength (38" vertical, 4.6 hand-timed 40, at 215-230lbs).

Bulking! What the hell is that?

Oh yeah, putting madd weight on! hahah

This is me back in the end of '04. After two cycles of Androsol (IMO, the most effective prohormone to ever hit the market, thanks to Bill Roberts and Biotest)

Oh yeah, I put on 17lbs in less than two months time. I went from 180 to 197. That’s pretty much how much I weighed in the pic above. Oh and if you’re wondering about my height, yeah, I’m only 5-6".

Oh and by the way, keep up the good work fellas. All it takes is consistency!! Best of luck to everyone and their bulking goals!

x2 on listening to Dorian regarding pausing contractions and resisting the negatives (instead of letting gravity do all the work)…

Well, Dorian didn’t invent that…and I agree, most people should be doing that.

However, I am going to make a distinction. I do NOT think anyone but intermediate to advanced lifters should go overboard with holding contractions. I think their focus should be on getting their weight up first.

I hold my contractions now longer than ever before…especially for biceps. My arms are also looking better as a result.

BUT, I do not think I would have seen the same benefit if I was doing this while only curling 35lbs in each hand.

Ever since I saw the video with Yates training Greene I have focused a lot on squeezing with a slow negative. I still go in thinking I’ll beat my previous lifts or die trying, but now I focus on controlling the weight. My back is now becoming sore finally the day or two afterwards but I’m still setting PRs! Dorian is a badass

I’m glad I saw this thread. I’ve been weak with my eating lately, time to take a few shots of EVOO

x,
Are you saying you copyrighted it before DY? In the U.S. it’s first to file, so whoever got their application into the USPTO first wins…

Chris Aceto (trains Dusty Hanshaw and some other pro’s) commented a few times that he thinks when guys get really big their metabolisms actually slow down some. He claims it’s something people will be talking about/recognize more in the future

Haaa glad you share my love of chipotle too, I get the same exact thing minus sourcream…the green salsa is the best!! Just had some today actually :)…

Thanks…yeah things are developing nice, just need to really pack down the food as I mentioned a shit load more overall size is needed and the goal of course…short term goal right now is 30-40 more lbs.

I commend you for this thread deat!

Yeah interesting …I mean I see what you’re saying tho, some newbies could misconstrue things and worry more about the negative/contraction without also aiming to stack more 45s/lbs on their exercises. I follow it loosely, cause I know I need to keep upping weights until I get to some serious poundage.

I’ve done this on and off floating between 180-200 for 3-4 years. Never getting big and never getting lean. FACE PALM I’m planning on eating heavy until at least Jan. '11. Looking to hit 230-240 and stay there for awhile. I’ll get pics up later tonight

Do you have a certain weight you’re looking to hit or just going till 4/11? What are you weighing now?
