Building the Monolith: Switch Bench and Press Days, 2nd Press on Fri?

Looking to gain more size in the chest area. I was wanting to switch the Bench day to Monday and the Press day to Wednesday. Then on Friday instead of a second press day do incline bench press. Thought on the switch? TIA

There’s upto 200 reps of dips and 35 bench presses at more than 70% per week. Not enough chest volume for you?

Don’t.

With dips I feel it more in my triceps then I do with my chest usually.

Don’t mess with that program. Just do it as is. It doesn’t matter if you “feel” dips in your chest. It’s working plenty, especially if you do 100-200. BTM will put size on your entire body if you eat right. Plus, there’s a ton of pressing, and your “upper chest” (I hate to use that term) is actually pretty heavily involved in the press.

Ok thanks for the input.

I ran that program and had great results for my level of size and strength. Do NOT do it unless you’re committed to eating. You need to eat more than you’ll ever want to. I actually used supersets and giant sets with the main work and assistance work and tried to finish the workout in around an hour. I gained around 7-8 pounds and actually lost a little bit on my waist. Make sure your TMs aren’t too high for this program. I used somewhere between 80-85 S,B,D and a little under 90 for the press. If I ran it again I’d probably use 80 for the first three and 85 for the press, but that can be an individual thing. Just make sure it’s set to where you’re not grinding a bunch of reps on the main barbell work.

If you are not already doing so, try putting your legs in front of you instead of behind you. Coach Thibaudeau wrote an article which includes a video that demonstrates the proper form at about 2:30:

I feel it a LOT more in my chest this way.
