My whole life I have had the kind of insanely fast metabolism women would kill for but its never been too beneficial to me. If I eat a big enough meal I already have to crap before I put the fork down. As far as I know I’ve never broken 10% body fat either and I am a huge nerd and go into phases of horrific junk diets.
I’ve even considered the possibility of an issue with my body’s ability to process and/or store fats. I’ve tried the West Side for Skinny Bastards regime and read several awesome articles by authors like Ian King, who try to help us skinny bitches outweigh our girlfriends.
I’ve spent hundreds on supplements and even done food logs to track my caloric intake and exercise logs for how many I’m burning. I’m sure this is a common post but in all the research and months of gorging myself on high protein, fat and calorie diets the best I’ve managed is 159lbs. Plateaued there for like 8 months.
I just cannot intake more than I burn. I eat a lot and I eat healthy. I’m probably a part owner of costco just based on the amount of protein, eggs, juice and oatmeal I buy from them. Other than taking out a mortgage for the best supplements I can find has anyone with a similar build managed to graduate at least from Beiber to Macaulay Culkin?
In past week what have you eaten on a consistent basis in a typical day?
What do you do outside of the gym?–EX do you work manual labor --because that would explain you burning alot of calories
Other things to do-I bet you are eating less than you think. Eat higher fat meat–chicken thighs instead of breasts/80/20 beef instead of 90/10, more whole eggs, add tbsp of olive oil into your food, nut butters straight out of jar, add heavy cream to your protein shakes

What about this? Have you had this looked at? Might be some sort of GI issues preventing you from absorbing what you’re eating. Or you are vastly overestimating your cals. Either way, other than at breakfast, this should not be a common occurrence.
Most people don’t eat nearly as much as they think. i have a friend who wanted to get bigger, i told him close to a thousand times he needs to eat. He said “I do”. Guess what? 2 months later he’s the exact same weight. i watch him after a workout, say lets get something to eat. His response? “Nah, im not hungry”. Me: did you eat breakfast? Him: “A bowl of cereal”
No shit he’s not gaining weight. His “eating a lot” is like a day where I eat less then normal. He literally doesn’t know what “a lot” is, its not “a bowl of cereal”.
And if you really truly are eating a lot, and eating “healthy” start eating “unhealthy” because usually when people say healthy they mean fruits and vegetables and chicken and things like that, none of which are very calorie dense so eating a lot of those doesn’t put a lot of calories in you.
Rice, bread, hamburger, pork chops, drink milk. Hell eat some pop tarts or a big bowl of cereal with whole milk and drink the milk after. Eat pretty much anything if you aren’t gaining weight, cause guess what? You’re not going to get fat very easily if your metabolism is as fast as you think.

This simply isn’t true. Just eat more and train hard. Your posts make me think you do neither of these. You need to change your attitude if you are serious, currently it doesn’t sound like you are.
You are not some one in 10 billion medical marvel. Just eat more and learn how to train with intensity. It really is that straightforward.

Actually, I believe that is a sign of good gut function. Supposedly we (humans) should have to “go” every time we eat… I’ll try to find a link to what I was referring to.
@ Drift
Don’t think it’s a digestion problem. If you weren’t digesting properly I would guess that you would feel pretty shitty from day to day - not absorbing vitamins/minerals causing a deficiency and causing hormonal imbalance.
Like the above posters asked, how many calories do you eat per day?
A cup of heavy cream is about 414 calories. 12 eggs is about 960. A raw kilo (2.2 lbs or 35.2 ounces) of sirloin is about 1450. Chuck steak is more like 3500. You’ll lose accuracy with fatty ground beef if you dump the fat. A cup of rice (raw measure, 185 grams) is about 685 calories.
If you can’t eat more than your metabolism burns then you metabolism is either somehow able to rise in exact preportion, or you have a digestive issue (take enzymes).
Start thinking in these quantities until you’re gaining a lb a week.
breakfast- huevos rancheros. 4 eggs, a can of beans, 2 avocados sliced on top and maybe some salsa fresca
3 servings of oatmeal with my protein mix
2 big glasses of OJ and one of water
lunch- country fried steak
2 baked potatoes fully loaded
ceasar salad swimming in dressing
treated myself to a soda but mostly drank water
for dinner we’re going to have chicken parmigiana which I’ll saturate in olive oil. I’ve even done shots of it for free healthy fatty oils and calories
dessert will probably be another bowl of oatmeal with protein.
I drink water as if I’d just walked home from the desert and finish every meal thinking if I don’t the terrorists win. I love trail mix so I tend to snack on it throughout the day for its high concentration of protein, calories and fats.
I’ve just beaten clinical depression tried several antidepressants and finally got active quit all my pills and trying to get back in shape. I know I’m a skinny bitch and I’m back to square one right now but advice is probably most useful here so I can apply it early on.
current weight 135
bench 175
squat 215
deadlift 245
skinny bitch jokes aside I do know how to count calories and I dont eat rabbit food unless its on the side of a real meal. I keep hearing milk is for babies but I do love me some whole milk.
The reason I think I may have fat issues is thc is stored in body fat and I know I dont have much but when I was depressed I didnt have an appetite at all. I was scaring family so I was stimulating it with weed. I was smoking pretty consistant for more than a month and had blood work done and the doctor said it didnt even show up. (lucky me?) and if I try eating it like cookies or brownies it has 0 effect on me.

“Because marijuana stays in the bloodstream for a short time, blood tests for marijuana are usually not used, except in the case of automobile accidents and some roadside sobriety check points”
Its sounding more and more like your problem is entirely you not eating enough

Okay thanks for that-it’s not terrible- the trail mix is smart and the food choices are decent but…
I think you need more protein–
4 (I assume whole) eggs plus can of beans–50g?
steak–depending on size anywhere from 30-80g protein–30 if its 5oz 80 if its like close to 12-14oz
protein/oatmeal x2–maybe 50-70g total?
that comes out to be 130 on the low end and 200 on the high end… that’s pretty broad.
protein in trail mix is pretty negligible unless you’re eating a cup or more of it a day
As I understand it there is a residual effect from using marijuana so I thought I’d be getting a slap on the wrist when I went in for my results but he said it wasn’t even showing up. He suggested if it wasn’t negatively effecting my schoolwork and I was only using it to gain an appetite mum was to be the word.
I do eat a decent amount of trail mix and I vary the types based on the different non nut ingredients. I’d even think more than a cup of a day. When I’m in bulking phases I try to intake 2-3g per pound of body weight. Should also have included pre and post workout shakes which give me another 50g. Seeing the scale today for the 1st time in a year was a bummer I haven’t been this light since high school and I’m 24 now. I use nutritiondata.com to try to plan meals with a high GI.
I may be posting a little early on in my journey towards getting back in a shape that isn’t a lower case i. Thank you guys for constructive input and as my exercise regime and eating habits even out a better I’ll try to post with more info. I’d post a pic but some trolls on the RMP are lookin better than I am these days. I retained definition from when I weighed more but if you have a small monitor you might not even see the muscles holding my bones upright.
“Peanut Butter definitely needs to be one of your new best friends.”
yeah man I love peanut butter I use it on everything I even use it instead of toothpaste who needs flouride?

I don’t think what you posted comes out to more than 2500-3000 calories. You need to add at least half a gallon of milk and a couple servings of natty peanut butter to what you ate that one day.
The fact that you can’t even tell us how many calories you consumed that day means you’re not paying close enough attention to your diet. You need to try and count your calories and make sure you’re hitting a certain amount every day. Some guys on here consume 5k+ a day just to gain weight.

Correct, it’s called a gastrocolic reflex. Gastrocolic reflex - Wikipedia
It’s a good thing it exists. If we didn’t make room for incoming food we wouldn’t feel too good.
OP: Change the water and OJ to milk. Eat until you can’t possibly eat any more, then drink some whey.
Cut down 1 serving of oatmeal, add in more eggs. Throw some cheese on those eggs, and/or diced ham. (Love ham and cheese scrambled eggs.) You may want to cut down the beans to half a can. (Depending on the size can.)
Add in one more meal, even if it is just a protein shake. Great time to add in that natural peanut butter.
Cut down the salad, drop to a single baked potato, and increase the meat source. Preferably not breaded.
Add in fish oil capsules toward the end of your meals.
While salad, oatmeal, and beans can be a healthy option, in your case, it could be helping to fill you up.
Also look at the speed in which you eat. People attempting to lose weight are told to eat slower so their brains can get the signal that their not hungry any more. Well in your case, you may want to eat a little faster, so you can get more food into your system before your brain gets that signal.
Also it is easier to get calories in if you drink them as opposed to eating them, hence all the suggestions for milk. Almond milk is another option, if you have milk issues, though I would add at least a little protein to that.

Try to look at it this way…
1)…you do not have a fast metabolism, you have an inefficient metabolism. You are not burning the calories you consume, they are passing through you unabsorbed.
2)More like the ability to properly process all calories.
