OH MY!!! I am so pleased the turbo gym picked up this new bag! I have nearly purchased it myself …but stopped since I know I can’t use it in my apartment, also that its too heavy for field carries etc… its a Cerberus bag that loads up to I believe 175-180#, turbo gym had put 160# in and labeled it so.
SO EXCITED! I saw that thing sitting on the pile of black sand bags right away today and changed my lifting plans! Worked out too because my knee probably would have hated squats today.
It was a challenging as well being not totally filled so it was a bit more floppy, harder then the pretty perfect rogue 150# one- that is busted and leaking. I am SO PLEASED its available to use at turbo gym!
Off to work! Had my first parvo pup in months and months yesterday and she was doing her job fighting that parvo. She defiantly will not be the last as summer heats up and parvo season is upon us all. She is a husky and I bet the day- which could be today- she starts feeling like a real puppy she will be a screamer!
Great Dane gdv xrays yesterday…aggressive Dane as well who peed all over the whole time. Up on the xray table for rads, then down…then the vet wants more views, up again, then down, then the vet wants still more…etc. I currently do a fraction of the amount of xrays that I did on ER but I hate them non the less!!

BLEH! NO power today or coordination at all. Its hormonal I believe. The chest supported rows were an experience as I am bloated as all get out and bleh chest supported-abdomen compression rows were what they really were.
I had a dream the night before last that I was pregnant, suddenly just 5 months pregnant and alone- it was AWFUL!
I woke up so relieved it was just a nightmare…only to fall back asleep and have an even worse one where someone I really don’t wanna think about shows up at my parent’s house trying to sneak into a dinner party! I spent the majority of that dream trying to chase them off the driveway!! I woke even more grateful it was just a nightmare…hormones are WILD!

Also mixed in the day was meeting a new blood donor cat, and misc general vet tech stuffs. I nearly called out of work this morning just because I was feeling burnt out…but seriously I have such the bomb job. It’s hard, but it’s very worth it !

Yesterday afternoon I had the visual light show that comes before a migraine and luckily caught it in time before it got bad. I did end up pretty nauseated so I had crackers for dinner.
I don’t each much carbs normally because I end up going crazy and generally avoid having them in my house ever, however a constant rate infusion of crackers when I get migraine nausea helps immensely. Carbs help pull some of the swelling off my brain it seems though I’m not sure if it even makes sense that they would.
Anyway! I slept GREAT post carb crackers and woke up feeling good!
I avoided knee stuff today in hopes of doing a good leg day tomorrow.
Feeling very good these days! Working hard on my self surveillance and managing my inner tyrant, embracing my limitations and excepting them. To understand the limits and figure out what things I can focus on that I actually have a possibility of being successful at.
I didn’t even do legs, but my quads feel big and juicy and I am enjoying it. I have come turns as I am filling out more that my legs are indeed The Harris Legs (Scottish! and STOCKY). Here’s hoping my knee with be calm and ready for fridays stuff!

Ducks are very underrated. True confession -I will eat duck (unfortunately, it is so so good) when dining with friends and it’s ordered, but I personally don’t order it any more.
Carbs are brain food. Sure, your body can do other things to fuel the brain, because survival adaptations, but carbs get there easy peasy so what you think/experience makes sense.
I’ve never have had duck myself, and I too would try it if it was offered but not go out and get it on my own. Ducks appear quite civilized!
Now geese? HELL NO. Geese are disgusting to consider ingesting! I’ve never eaten them and I would never eat them unless in a dire situation. BLEH! They have their place but not on a dinner plate! They are not for eating!
There was a big to-do recently in Denver where the parks department was actually considering ( they might have even done it) hunting the Canadian Geese at the parks to cull the population…and offering the meat to the poor. It sounded so bazaar I still think it was a joke, but it wasn’t! (? but maybe?? )
I respect wildlife, however park geese and pigeons are in my view similar to mice and rats. I won’t go out and kill them, but I certainly would not eat them, I think offering them to the “poor” is highly insulting!

Malibu Walk! Punctuated with suprise cameos of two raccoons who morphed out of the scrubs!
Malibu was power-sniffing along and here waddle up out of the bushes 2 raccoons to check her out. The scariest part was the level of total CHILL these dudes possessed- totally nonplussed by Malibu or me. They were not aggressive but full on curious and both inches away! This scared me even more!
Scared the SHIT out of me! The type of scream I screamed I have never heard come out of my mouth-- a real terror filled-if anyone heard this they would look for the person who needs help- kinda primal scream. HA!!!
I realized this too after I screamed and was pulling away that I should follow up that scream and I babbled some loud “NO NO Raccoon!” type nonsense!! Then I thought “Oh thank got it was not a skunk instead!”

I am always suspicious of nocturnal critters that come out in the day.

Yeah! Any typically nocturnal or normally fearful shy mammal that you see acting outside the norm behaviorally in daylight hours beware!
It could be a neurological issue which is where rabies displays itself. Rabies signs are not only unprovoked aggression but also drunk looking bats in the day, or an affectionate any type of typically shy mammal- overly incautious chipmunk!- could be rabid.
Malibu is vaccinated -but I am not!
