I heard from the volunteer place and am quite excited!!! I feel very compelled to do this. I know…dear diary log moments …but its exciting to think I might be able to make use of myself to someone besides sitting on my butt reading books all weekend long.

Last time I was this jazzed for volunteer stuff it was the raptor rescue that didn’t pan out. You have to be very available to help the falcons and birds of prey and its no joke, you need a TON of training on caring for and handling the birds. That time I couldn’t do it because I couldn’t offer that amount of time. I hope this one works out.

Were you planning on buying moulds, or making your own?

:D!! OH Chicken…if I had any type of outdoor space I’d do it! I think you can handle making them too if you are even remotely handy! I am not!

Molds are fairly cheap and there is some trial and error - from what I’ve read- about making the few few. Cement is cheap but messy…I was just hoop dreaming that maybe my twinne would get all excited and try…there’s always a ghost of a chance.

HOWEVER. It has become fashionable as of late to just lift natural rocks. Just big normal rocks in weird sizes. That would be super cheap! And well…pretty strongman ol timey…pretty “Look what I can do!” HA HA!!! My turbo gym suddenly has several natural rock with wt’s listed on them. They are stupidly hard to lift!

That my sister has offered numerous times for me to come to her yard and “lift”. well, clear away her big rocks! But I’m not flying to LA to do that…yet.

Lol! I might give it a go. Meanwhile maybe I should go down to the river and just grab me some rocks. I don’t think I have any in my creek that would work. None you would want to pack anyway.

I am almost set on my volunteer stuff, I’ve done the training online and just need to pass the background check which shouldn’t be a problem. I hope to get started next week.
I think it’ll be a good fit for me, sitting and talking or just hanging out with dementia patients who don’t get visitors at a nursing home. I was a CNA at a nursing home years ago and really liked the job. If its not a fit I’ll look for another opportunity, its been a long time since I worked in a nursing home.

The one I was in working almost a state run one and not the best conditions, and in the middle of nowhere Texas. $5/hour until I earned my CNA license on the job then $9 a hour for 2 1/2 years. At the time Texas was cheap enough that I supported myself and another person on that wage BARELY.

Today 5 mile walk - my body seid that’s what we need to do today.

My crazy mattress has to go. Lower lumbar region is not happy after sleepin in it. I twinged my lumbar area a bit ago I think from a wonky log clean and the bed has aggravated it, it has gotten to the point where every nigh its just a bit worse!!

Hopefully I’ll have someone to help me with a truck to move in a new one in a few days. I just heard back form volunteer place, I start Wednesday, I hope it work out.

I know you know this, but just in case…even if you buy a new good mattress don´t forget from time to time to turn it around. After a while they all get out of shape because of your weight and have painful consecuences. So just keep turning them around and change sides too.

Another thing: After all the strenght you have, your muscles must be growing like crazy,hahah, you should update us with a photo of them, haha!

I CANNOT WAIT!! As for strength I do not feel very impressive. I doubt I’ll have any giant gains anywhere or even PR’s that I am even aiming for…just well…now maybe that 220 stone! HA HA!

These stone sets took a long time because I was purposely making sure I had rigidly good form. I am not sure what this lumbar thing is–I do think its mattress related- but I wanted to be careful.

I also FINALLY remembered to remind myself the “feet together” step on the stone loading and it made a world of difference. MUCH more likely to not blow my knees but also happily it helps me get in better hip hinge for good loading

Getting a good bed/mattress is always mandatory, but the pain might come from other source, the best is going to a kinesiolog that most probably will ask for a “resonanz”, just to be on the safe side.r

Thanks trtoldman!! I can’t afford a dr’s appointment ( good old USA me costs $$$$$$ for that kinda thing ) to see any type of professional that does kinseiology evaluations. :frowning: BUT I am getting a yearly check up thursday. I hope to get some blood work done just to check it all out since its been a while. I think this lower back issue will fade if I treat it with respect. I hope!

Well I feel like I either have a case of CNS fatigue. That or the flu . New bed comes tomorrow I hope but I feel like I’ve been thrown down a stair case! Achey and sore. Coudl very well be emotional too, worn out.

I am going to take it easy until I get a good night’s sleep. I have a lot of family stuff going on, and I think it’ll only get worse. No health issues but a ton of serious stuff going down :frowning:

It doesn’t effect my daily life since I’ve long since been burned by this member of the family and stay away --but its my parents I worry about it. They don’t deserve the grief. But its for sure going to hit the fan.

No bed until next week :{ The mattress place is back ordered! GOD. A bunch of busy days at work. Stuck working on 6 cats- all the same family , all cats ate the same toxic plant- plus 14 other patients.

The cats drove me a bit mad! 5 out of the 6 were nearly identical black cats, nearly identical in body wt and size, all having only slightly different doses of the same really obnoxious medication to administer…just makes you have to quadruple check everything! Including the cats themselves since they are nearly identical!!

Since they all were admitted at the same time, things all were due at the same time, iv catheters all needed replacing at the same time…and OH! One has ringworm but no one told me until 2 hours after dealing with them. Owner’s dropped a massive deposit for their treatment–equivalent of 6 months of my personal wages.

I had only done some glute stuff until today. I have been able to do sets of L sit pull ups at home. just 3 -4 reps per set a couple times a day, its been over a year since I did them. AB OUT on those!! I brace so hard on those I make sure to pee before doing them so there’s no risk of tinkles.

I for sure had/am having cns fatigue. The kicker was realizing my heart rate was higher thank normal. Just too much stress! I think the sauna time felt too good and I over did that, too much for me with everything else going on in my lifting and interpersonal life. PLUS my BED IS A NIGHTMARE!!!

I got to spend some time with my family today and have more plans for it tomorrow, two of my sisters are in town to visit with 2 of my nephews who want to hang out and do stuff. So far I’ve scored scotch eggs with a promise for homemade cinnamon rolls.

I am exhausted though. I just keep telling myself how good I’ll feel after a good nights sleep!!

My job is pretty sweet. 5 nearly indentical cats with the same problem aside, I do get to meet guys like these two! They are boarding while their owner who is a coworker is out of town, these two stay together in the cage instead of separate in dog wards or cats wards.

They LOVE each other. The dog is blind, and the cat has three legs :smiley: Walking by these lil buddies cuddling in the must if a crazy loud day is what it’s all about!! Stinking cuties!!!

A great day today! I got to impress my nephews and sisters with my cool job, went to Casa Bonita, (It’s a local place with a lot of history – my uncle actually was the architect who designed it in the 70’s), AND some swimming!!!

We are all a bit exhausted emotionally as a family and it was a great way to spend a day. I’m a lucky Brute.
