Tried 405 deadlift tonight. Got it to my knees and I just couldn’t lock it out. I’m gonna switch rack pulls for sumo rack pulls on Thursday and I will try again for 405 on Monday. Once I get 405, I’m done maxing out.
I was pretty mad and exhausted so I only did some sets with 135 on squats and then leg extensions.
Next time I’ll get it.
Hit +90 for 6 on pullups, rack pulls were meh(I could rationalize why but w/e shit happens), I think my lat pulls went up(216x10, have to check last weeks post) and my new 1arm machine row felt great. Weight gain has kind of stalled a bit at around the 205 mark again, just like last time I got there(although I’m stronger, and I think leaner than last time), gonna try and bump up the calories quite a bit and blast through this shit.
Edit: I changed a couple more things
I was thinking about changing my routine a little bit, since my squat, well, blows.
I was thinking something like
Monday
Sumo deadlift- start with a weight I can do for three reps then add more weight once I get to 6 reps
sumo rack pulls (lockout is my weakpoint)- set of 8 reps
dumbell lunges- set of 12-15 reps
weighted decline sit ups
Wednesday
BP- start with weight for three reps and add weight once I get 8 reps
incline bp- set of 10
dead stop skulls- 20 reps rest paused
bentover overhead tricep cable ext- set of 30 reps rest paused
db flies- set of 12 reps
Thursday
squat- set of 10-12 reps
rack chins- set of 10 reps
db rows- set of 20 reps
pulldown abs
Saturday
High incline seated barbell press- start with a weight I can do for 3 reps and add weight once i get to 10
lateral raises- 30 reps rest paused
alt db curls- 20 rest paused
concentration curls- set of 8-10 reps
pinwheels- set of 20
How does it look?
I made a mistake for thursday
Thursday
wide box squat- set of 8-10 reps
rack chins- set of 10-12 reps
db rows- set of 20 reps
and on Wednesday I do db flies last in the session for 10 reps

Keep your chest up. And cut your damn hair :)
Haha, I’m doing front squats, and hanging ab raises as assistance to try and work on that. And the hair stays. ![]()

Nice squattin. All the reps looked real deep to me.
thanks man, just what I wanted to hear.

Zephead, great squatting man. You’ve made a lot of progress. You buried all of those reps IMHO.
Thanks dude. Positive feedback is always good.
Was PR +20 pounds, +1 rep or pr +10 pounds, +3 reps

Nothing to add really.
Gotta say, now that I’ve switched to high bar placement, it’s odd looking at people lean forward that much. It looks like you’re just kind of folding in half
(not meant as criticism)

yep.
So I talked to my dad today, (he’s an MD) and mentioned that I am seeing some atrophy in my left lat and quad as well as losing some ability to contract the muscles on that side as hard or as easily on the right. I suggested maybe it was nerve impingement and that I should see a chiro. His response…
“Lats and quads are indicative of a central lesion as this is high in the spinal column. Doesn’t seem to be a peripheral effect. Either I need to see this or Dr. Nowell as you may end up needing an MRI. Not being able to contract and seeing atrophy is not good. And depending on what we see is either brain or high cord lesion.”
Uh oh lol, I hope it’s nothing THAT serious. I don’t think it is, but we shall see. I’m gonna go to his office after class today and have him check it out, I’ll keep you guys posted.

nah, it’s just the inability to get a powerful contraction or “feel” the muscle working, which is why I still think it’s a nerve problem. I’m not a doctor though so I have no idea.
Chest
Flat BB: 275x5(+10lbs, same reps, yay me)
Incline DB: 95’sx9
Some machine chest press, db flyes for high rep work(added the machine before flyes because the heavier DB flyes were killing my shoulders, lighter weights feel great so a little extra exhausting beforehand seemed like the way to go)
Ab work.
My bench is almost like… decent, still 40lbs to go though.
Live- didn’t you mention something about deadlifting 405 20 times? how did that go
He wasn’t feeling it in the gym that day, ONLY got it for 13.
