Bolton 1008lb Deadlift

How much more of a douche-bag can you be?
There is a lot of friendly banter between those guys…after Don’s “2905” last fall and Fought’s 900 this January, Bolton was right there himself talking smack. Its all in good fun.

Right now, I think Fought is more concerned with chasing down Konstantinovs at 275 and breaking Chuck V’s IPA deadlift record than he is about dueling with Bolton.

Give fought some credit though…pulled 900 on his 9th lift of the day at 23 years old. If he stays healthy and keeps progressing like he has in the 3 years that he has been powerlifting, he will be serious competition for Bolton in the coming years.

i remember reading somewhere that bolton said he was going to eat more to increase his leverage in the deadlift- so that his weight would help the lift. any idea what he weighed in at for this pull? he looks bigger than in the 2006 videos from NY.
I was talking to Scott Cartwright about it today, and he said he sat next to Andy at nationals last year.

Said he literally did not stop eating the entire meet. Sandwiches, rice cakes, shakes, everything. Scott said he ate between sets, too.

Crazy.

An 800 bench in multiply is well within the realm of possibility for someone benching 600 raw. Not to say that he could “throw on” a super duper phenom and bench 800 just like that (as some would have you believe), but its definitely a possibility.
Bolton doesn’t use a bench shirt?

Why the fuck not? Like you said, someone of his strength could put on 200lbs from a shirt once he learns it.

Anyone know what he presses off a 2 or 3 board?

He benches with a shirt, just also happens to bench 600 raw (see above post). And yes, I just so happen to know what he has done off a 2 or 3 board (at least as of November 08): Andy Bolton Bench Press Training: November 2008 - YouTube
Couldn’t accurately count it, but I think I heard somewhere it was around low 7’s

Oh yea, a month later, on his website:
Andy B: “watch out my bench is coming”

Like SH said. Fought seems to be more concerned with getting his weight down, setting new records and staying healthy, than beating Bolton as a SHW, at the moment. He’s made incredible progress in the 3 or so years he’s been powerlifting, and while 1000 is certainly within the realm of possibilities for him down the road, Bolton’s thread is certainly not the place to be discussing it.

As far as "TeamXtreme"s comment goes…Anyone can sign their name Team Xtreme and I don’t know any lifters associated with Lexen that were happy about that comment or the claims.

I don’t typically train around Chuck, but I’m pretty sure I’d know about a 1000+ pull before it everyone on PL Watch did. Its pretty safe to say that comment was made by a troll.

Exactly, hence the inverted comma’s

with a 1200+squat, 1000 deadlift should be easy for him to get 3000 in the next couple years

You’d think so…But benching in the 6’s isn’t gonna get it for him.

Even if he benched 100 lbs. more, he still wouldnt be able to hit that 1,000 in a full meet.

Someone can’t add math. Bolton squats 1200 plus and pulls a grand.

1000+1200= 2200

3000-2200= 800

An 800 bench in multiply is well within the realm of possibility for someone benching 600 raw. Not to say that he could “throw on” a super duper phenom and bench 800 just like that (as some would have you believe), but its definitely a possibility.
I don’t think you understood what he said. The claim is that Bolton couldn’t pull 1000 in a full meet, so he would need even more on the bench to make up for it.

What deadlifts has he made in full power lately? I’m not too aware, but I thought he was closing in to the 1000.

Also, Chuck Fought is Chuck Norris strong with a 900 full power deadlift. And to do it at his age with only a few years under his belt, that guy is half demon. I bet pulling sessions at the Lexen gym are sick.

Has everyone forgotten Bolton pull 940lb+ raw at the end of a full meet years ago?

So your saying he can pull a grand in a full meet? I dont think so.

Sorry Hanley, that wasn’t really directed at you, just a general comment. Wasn’t saying that you were suggesting it was one of the Team Xtreme guys.
