Yup, I hate yard work as well. It is pretty hot out today too. Take some water breaks, hit some curls… Not a terrible way to get some volume in.
I did the curls mostly so the next time I do poundstones they don’t absolutely murder me again. We’ll see.

I absolutely love the axle. I’m finding it much more comfortable to press with than a regular bar. Had a tough time with the top sets of log cleans, took a couple attempts to get them up mostly due to the log slipping down my shirt. Overall pretty happy with today otherwise.
Edit: also, I have finally gotten above a 3/4x bw press. 1x here I come.

This reminds me of the “workout” I did when packing.
I’d pack and every 3min do a set of 50 jumping jacks and 10 burpees
Stuff like that is definitely helpful in making a mundane task a little more interesting haha.
You won’t catch me doing burpees anytime soon tho.
I’ve also done a “workout” where I did 2min bike intervals + max calculus problems in 2min until I finished 20 problems and 10 burpees for every problem I got wrong

I need to start deepwater asap. Have a busy weekend coming up but I’m going to try to sneak in the first three days Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully hit bench Monday or Tuesday. I can’t keep failing shit over and over again.

Broke the floor, just couldn’t keep the momentum up. I feel like I’m just fried right now.
Max as of about a month ago was 435, got 445 off the floor.
Have you been training consistently for this month or did you deload and have a break ? If you were coming at this from a break then its not uncommon for max strength do drop a little. Maybe just need to get back on a program and build again.
Yup had a two week vacation where I did not train. I was hoping to feel a bit more “ready” before starting deepwater but I think this is as ready as I’ll ever be. Thanks for the help man

I’ve been absorbing a stupid amount of Jon Andersen content the past 12 hours. I’m going to the grocery store today after work to load up on meat, peanut butter and avocados. I’m going to plan out days over the next month where I will have free days on the weekends and when to drop in lifting days throughout the week when needed.
I’m about to destroy these next 12 weeks. I want to be unrecognizable after it’s done.

Yes boilerman run tf outta all the deepwater programs. I will do the same in college which starts next week. Also I feel ur pain on those deadlifts, I’ve been there on the last 2 programs I ran before deepwater and it really sucks.

Feeling the pain on the Deads too. My deads are at their best when I’m running 531. Otherwise they seem to suffer.

It feels like my face is on fire. My eyes are bloodshot. It looks like I just got out of the shower.
I walked through the living room to get water at set 6 and my wife was in there painting. She said “what the fuck is wrong with you? You look like shit”.
275 for squats was ambitious, but I’m confident that once I get in the groove I’ll be able to get all sets without rest pause.
Dinner is 1lb of hamburgers with ghost pepper cheddar, guacamole, a large salad with blue cheese and many scoops of peanut butter with whole milk.
It’s strange that I found my deadlift had almost stalled on 531 programming. The progress on it past a certain point was very slow, but that was likely my own fault for coasting. I think I was just kind of going through the motions while expecting something more.
That actually makes me curious as to how I’d do on a 531 program after not running one for a year.

I think after learning to push yourself with BtM (mega 531), DW etc that running 531 should in theory be a great idea. May be worth a shot some time in the future.
