Big Jez' Training Log

I fall victim to previously having that unnecessary idea that maybe one day I could be etched in stone.
If you go back only just over a year or so, it was the life I was living.
Not saying it would be impossible, but granted now being able to remove the ego in my mind and see the big picture, I probably don’t have that commitment or drive to chase that, it would be a short term pursuit

Ive truely missed doing this, Ive just had to remind myself that not everything I do needs to be 0-100, that there is no shame in having a hobby that feeds happiness, It doesnt need to be the pit of the happiness
Or something like that

I think you can be committed to the gym 100%, but you have to have realistic goals. My goals are to look good and be stronger than average. Those aren’t hard to achieve while having a fulfilling life.

It’d be different if my goal was to set any type of record or win an event. You just have to figure out what you want out of life.

Week update
Weekend was good
Had a couple of little work outs inbetween my 26hr shifts

Had a boxing group training session Saturday AM
I havent trained in boxing/Muay Thai in a few years, used to grapple a fair bit but my wrists were pretty banged up from my rugby days (fending) so I gave it up to preserve my health.

Wrapped them well and hit the bags
Felt good, so I might start incorporating it more with my training

So today, myself and the mrs had a PT session with a trainer friend of ours who specialises in both crossfit and boxing training
Put through some basic lifting and warm up, had a little boxing wod, burnt 600 odd cals doing so, so I see this as an absolute win

Week 1 weight update - 134 (down 4 kgs)
Feel infinitly better in both my mind and physically

Time to ramp it up a bit

Thanks Simo
Its good to be back in a positive mindspace with this

I was only talking about it with the mrs the other day, with what consumes my life and the outcomes it does
I need to be busy, if I have downtime, self admittedly I turn into a busy minded person, probably a bit of an asshole to be around.
It might be some mild sort of ADHD or some other classification, but if I zone off, im difficult to be around.
Its why I work so much, im happy to work between 4am and 6pm because it gives my hands and my mind something to do, but I need to be able to tire my mind out and have some enjoyment after work, and for the last 12 months I havent had that, not atleast with the gym (too much whiskey and cigars)

As I said the other week,
Just gotta stay consistent

May-
A case of beer isnt enough, lets start smoking cigars daily.jpeg
Business getting that busy Im averaging 3 hrs sleep a night
Not working out still, gettin reaaaaal fat

June-
Having a mental breakdown dot com dot au/shouldaseenthatcoming
Business continuing to grow
Realising that im starting to get addicted to some pretty fuckin shit habits and needing to change

Looked in the mirror, and luckily with it coinciding with gyms re opening in AUS that I needed to start planning my life a bit more instead of eat sleep work repeat lifestyle

Que the last 6 weeks of some positive lifestyle changes, feel a whole bunch better already

Biggest lifestyle change is the business taking up all free time I used to have.
Dont get me wrong, its the first time ive had a 2nd income stream so im in no way upset because ive grown this brand during a world wide pandemic so Im beyond proud, but fuck moi.
I am so driven with this, its been a hard process to understand when to log off it.

I neglected myself doing it, which ended up preventing me from being able to drive it the way I need to.

Learnt a heap on time management because of it,

So thats enough on that, its 3rd week back at the moment doing PPL with a 2nd Pull day in there, just focusing on losing some of that flab that I put on.

FF- mad props to everyone who finished the challenge, i seen some of the results and there were some crackers

Hope everyone is well :+1:

That’s a lot of stress. I’m happy to hear the business is doing well. I’m sure you could bury yourself all the same and not have the success part so you’re doing good there.
