I think that how impressive one’s arms are greatly depends on a number of factors. Frame is number one because a guy with 14 inch arms who is 5’2 will clearly look better than a guy with the same arm measurements who is 6’2 (given that all other factors are the same). Insertion points also play a big role.
I have a friend whose bicep insertion points goes to the crook of his elbows and his arms look impressive at a lean 14.5’ despite never training them. Another friend has incredible vascularity, even when he is bulking and has no visible abs, veins still cover his body and therefore make the arm more impressive.
In any case, mine are 16.25’-16.5 cold and 17’ with a good pump. I’m 5’10 and although not directly training them too often, I seem to get the most comments about them over other muscle groups. I’d like them to be the size they are now with me being a bit leaner. I am also one of those people who can look 15-20lbs heavier when pumped and carb-loaded. Picture for example.

Well don’t I feel like a pussy. My arms are only 15inches. I am affraid I am a lifetime member of the sub 16"arm club. I do get complimented all the time on how large they look though, maybe its cause I am only 5’10 and have short arms. I can only imagine what people would say to me if I had 18inch arms, can anyone help?

(1) lose the can’t attitude
(2) try something new, like EDT for arms or dips and pullups every day for a month

I always thought about that, but I worried too much about overtraining. I don’t have a can’t attitude, I was kidding, I have only been lifting under 2 years, I have a lot of gains to come, it just seems like it takes forever. BTW I switch up my arm routine every 8-12 weeks.
I agree that they will never seem big enough. My arms measure at 18in. cold right now, but I’m all triceps. I’m 6’3 240lb. I can fit three fingers between the crook of my elbow and my bicep, so I have really high insertion points. Does it seem to be that guys with proportionally bigger biceps appear to have bigger arms than guys with proportionally bigger triceps?

To touch on what Danny boy says. EDT for arms is simply amazing when done EXACTLY the way Coach Staley outlines it - including the pre, peri, and post workout protocols.
If you choose not to do EDT for arms, then make arms first in your workout for a month. Triceps are 2/3 of your arms size. Work them hard and heavy.

The EDT Arm Specialization Mesocycle by Charles Staley:
There was a recent post where assbuster and others claimed a 2" arm gain.
Wow. I did not see that. Waterbury’s stuff rocks for sure. I think that people jump on his more advanced programs before they are ready. I like what Cosgrove said about arm specialization: don’t even think about it until you can do 10 dips and 10 pullups. I’m not suggesting that any of you can not, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
I tried posting this with my other message. My arms are 17’ pumped and 16.25-16.5 cold and flexed at 205-210lb and 5’10. Ultimately, I’d like to have them be 16.5-17 cold and about leaner. And my shoulders are definetly a weakpoint that I’m working on bringing up so that proportion isnt to out of whack. I’m really happy with the gains I’ve made in the last year or so in terms of size, thanks mainly to the kick ass advice at T-Nation.

Any further big-arm posters or reposters to this thread; height and armsize are being mentioned but can you also add your weight stats too so that us striving for bigger arms can get an overall idea with more complete stats. Thanks
