i’ve been training since 2006, i started at 150lbs and now weigh in the low 190’s. my arms are 15.5 cold that’s about the only measurement i’ve taken.
just started deadlifting so my numbers are low 5*5 sets and reps working up to 250lbs. I formerly had wheelchair-like legs. no straps no belt working to build up strength and base to avoid injuries that occur w/ going heavy under false pretense, i could go a little heavier but an concerned w/ form.
other stats worth mentioning: incline presses sets of 8-12 reps working upward to 65lb dumbells and then down a bit for a final feeder set of 12+ reps at 40lbs.
t-bar rows: up to four 45lb plates 6-8 reps.
shoulder press: dumbells work up to 60lbs each for 6-8 reps.
wide grip pull ups: 1) 10-12 reps 2) 6-8 3 and beyond) 5 reps repeated w/ rest until the grand total is 30 or so then i move to a different exercise.
I’m a bit verbose and long winded getting to the point but I’ve come to the conclusion that others lie and/or I’m weak. Weak is a matter of relativity but I see pics of these Rate My Progress guys and think “BS” half the time.
Everyone is benching 3, swatting 4, and deading 5. Yet some of these fuckers don’t appear to lift at all, whereby if I handed them 45’s for hammer curls or what not I doubt they’d succeed.
i have no fucking clue what my driving point is here, oh yeah, it burns me to see people just throw up cyber #'s, whereby I and others here on T-Nation work, sweat, and hurt for every pound we progress.
Well, im sure alot of people are inflating their numbers. You can’t believe everything you hear from everyone, especially on the internet. However, there are alot of members on here that are real strong mofo’s and have been training a long time. What does a person look like that benches 300, squats 400, and deads 500? I don’t feel that I look like I can do the above numbers, but I can.
Who cares though? Why should anyone care about my numbers or if I was inflating them (unless you were trusting in me with your training or money). Weight training is a personal journey and a battle against yourself. Work as hard as you can and you won’t have any doubts or concerns about “others”.
Your numbers seem pretty low considering you’ve lifted since '06.
I don’t really give a shit anyway, I never go for a max lift and don’t ego lift. Some people post big numbers, then post videos to prove and they don’t even look like they lift half of it.
Just do your own thing. Its nothing to get worked up on.

-Controlled or cheated, amount of backbend and leg drive (overhead press,curls etc.)
-Positioning (seated or standing)
-Shoe quality (squat,deadlift,olympics)
-Plate length (deadlift)
-Barbell or dumbbell width & barbell length and elasticity.
-Differences in machines’ leverages and resistance
-Machine lifts as opposed to free weights
-Leverage differences with differing equipment (weight filled bags as opposed to barbells or dumbbells etc.)
Simple. They need to accomodate for a small penis.

Who cares really? I applaud your honesty, but I don’t believe half of the bullshit I read on the web, including many of the posts on this forum. My guess is upwards of 85% of the members on here are not even 200lbs fully clothed.

Machine lifts as opposed to free weights? People generally say whether they did a HS flat press or a flat bench press, so where’s the issue?
You forgot bench shirts and other gear, btw, for all the 1RM stuff…
Add to that lifting speed…
And seriously guys, there are a bunch of people who can bench 300-400 (or more, though often with a shirt) and look like they hardly/don’t train.
Lifting something once doesn’t make you big…
Though I agree on the exaggeration issue in general.

I did not mention gear because it’s too obvious. Wraps and belt count as gear here.
Saw your profile and at 6ft and 190 coming from 150 it looks like you made a decent gain. Not knowing what your back ground is how can one judge. For instance, if you were never athletic before starting to lift. Just keep progressing more reps or more weight. Fish stories are just part of life- play your own game.
Probably a bunch of lying Bodybuilder wannabees, i hate it when they try to make my numbers look small. I bench 980lb but they come here and say they bench 1000lb, pisses me off…
What, people on this site inflate their numbers? And I thought everyone else really squatted 70 lbs more than they deadlift…
But seriously, if you are working up to a 250 dl at 190 lbs you have some major weaknesses. Stop doing hammer curls and get that lower body up to par. I used to think everyone was full of shit until I actually put the hard work into improving my dl, and in a few months it jumped about 90 lbs. Oh and the 65lb db incline for 6-8 is pretty weak as well… Looks like you need to hit the basics and get your strength up. Great job on the weight gain though, more than most people can say!

I know many people in real life who don’t even look like they lift at all and are stronger than you have listed in here. And I have seen them lift with my own eyes.

His arms are very small as well for someone of that weight and height. Mine were 15" when I weighed 150lbs.
Just because someone posts better stats than you, it doesn’t mean they were lying. It could just mean you have a lot of work to do.
Not to compare or anything i started lifting almost a year ago, and i weight 240 when i started, cut down to 175, then bulked to 192 as of today and my numbers are higher then yours by quite a bit…
Then again i have been training solely strength for a year…

thats still preety big arms for only 150, what do you say to the guy whos 25 pounds heavier than that at the same hieght with 15 inch arms hah
