tri’s play a big part but people comment on your biceps more i think. thats if you have buldging insertion points. also if you have solid lats it squezes your tri’s a bit more flat making them apear bigger. i dont think i could ever say i have big arms no matter how much they measure
depends on the person… mainly height and bone length… my buddys right arm is 16" and mine is 16.5" but his looks alot more impressive, possibly 2" difference ( he’s 6ft and I’m 6’5" )
Serious question, how do people keep finding these 4+ year old threads?
Doesn’t bother me all that much but is there an actual reason for it or has there just been a spate of them lately
It’s the attack of the resurrecting trolls.
I am 14(15 next month) and my arms are at 15.5 inches…I feel really small when I am at the gym With a short guy(5’7",171cm) with 17 inch arms(he is 4-5 years older than me)that trains only arms and his chest, legs and back are disgustingly small and disproportionated.
But usually the girls and boys at school say I have huge arms.Well looking at the guys here at T-Nation all the day ,even pros look small to me ![]()

Now I see this is an old thread(sorry)
and who the fuck is this necroposter
I’m at 15.5"… Got here from puny 13.8" in 4 months but still feel tiny. It doesn’t help that I have very, very low bi insertions and might never have that “peak.” Sigh… When I stop dieting and get back to bulking, should probably do something about these arms.
IMO nothing wrong with pumping this thread, it’s always fun to compare.
I am of the opinion that no matter how big I get I will always consider myself small so I don’t really worry about it.

FYI low bicep insertions are considered to be “genetically superior” from what I understand. It allows for a fuller look even though you may not achieve the high peak of someone with shorter insertions.
Same deal with lats, the lower the insertion, the better. Leaves less empty space.
strait bar curls all the way:)
Zottoman Curls from the “Canadian Cannons” workout is sick. I still do them from 45# all the way down to 15# for about 8 reps each…kills me but my arms are pretty.

haha nice.
My right arm is 17 inches, my left one is 16 1/4–and they’re both small as fuck.
damn how do you end up with that large a difference between arms
mine are pretty much exactly the same size

Well, I’ve had this weird problem with my left arm and shoulder for years–I think I may have nerve damage or something.
Anyway, I have a lot of trouble feeling the left biceps working, and I have to really concentrate on the contraction. Whatever the problem is, it also affects pressing movements on the negative–on the flat bench press, I can’t even go all the way down to my chest anymore without feeling my biceps tendon is going to snap in half.
It’s really aggravating and makes it a pain in the ass to train my chest and shoulders.
My arms are 15.5 inches. Small, I want them to be bigger. I think my biceps are bigger looking when flexed, my triceps need a lot of work.
I havent measured my arms pumped but they look SO much bigger when they are pumped.
I do already get comments on my arms though. I’m not sure if this is because I am putting on size and they are just bigger than before or because most of the people around here are very unimpressive physically.
I am also fairly lean and very vascular which I think makes them look better then they are.
The muscle bellys of my biceps seem to be a bit short and there is a gap between the croock of my elbow, I dont mind though cause it gives it more peak.
Edit: 5’11" 84kg
