last but not least…my baby top abs…I have to suck it in and crunch down, but they are there.
They went missing for a short time.
I’m not looking for a ripped 6 pack…just less squish would be good.

Definitely some progress there. And nice legs! You seem to lean out the opposite way from me. My back, upper abs and shoulders are showing definition but my arse and thighs remain stubbornly squishy. You seem to have got a lot more definition in the quads. Nice work.
Greg- yeeah Buddy!!
Thanks Cal!!! you know I like tearin’ shit up! ![]()
My stomach has always been squishy…even before kids and even when I got myself down to 135(I was 21)
I can tell when I’m losing cause my face gets less round, shoulders pop, my chest gets bonier(boner, haha) boobs shrink up and my collar bone appears. And then slowly I start to lose inches all over, yet I remain soft.
What gives?
I must say though, this is a first for me where I lost/gained the same amount of inches. In a relatively short amount of time. I’ve also never trained ‘body parts’ neither. And I’ve never consistently done c-a-r-d-i-o… Accept for instances where I was doing 2 upper days/2 lower days.
I’ll stay on this track and see where it leads me. OH! This week I start to up the frequency of intervals(3x a week) and steady state cardio…(another first) Cardio in the PM in the form of walking;weather permitting.
And all this with a busted Thyroid. There is HOPE!!
Ddot- I hope it goes away too!! If not, I will get a tattoo to cover it up. Husband suggested a spider ![]()
And Thanks!! Sometimes I feel like I’m just chasing my tail here.
Your legs are gorgeous! Yes I see it ![]()
FOOOD!
Haven’t been posting, but I’ve been eating it.
12pm- plain yogurt
230- rice, peas.hamburger mix.
8oz carrots
5pm- almonds
swiss cheese
630- 16oz cabbage
shrimp
miracle noodles
all lightly steamed mixed with sesame oil, ground mustard…nom nom nom
crap, I guess thats why I’m hungry RIGHT.NOW.
930- emergency cottage cheese/cucumbers
Good progress in here! Lat spread FTW!!
If you’ve never consistently done cardio, that might be the missing link for you. I like your plan.
Last night I took a walk, just 20 minutes to test out my Vibrams and to enjoy the lovely evening. It was fun, but I rarely can fit it in.
yeah, looking great ![]()
i do find it interesting how people lose / gain fat in different patterns. i wonder about the cardio for you, too, if that is the one thing you haven’t seriously tried to see.
Thank you! Also, my back is so wide, and fat likes to hang out back there. When I can stand with my arms relaxed and there are no ‘wings,’ I know I’m getting somewhere. (sorry, it disturbs me too, lol) And this morning I noticed there was less of it…
we’ll see how it goes. You can only do so much cardio in a day! I train in the mornings around 10am.
If it came down to it, I could go walking at 430-5am…gym time with intervals…then walking in the evening, lol.
I’m not trying to get competition lean…just past this 15-20lbs that have been hanging on for dear life. And this is also the first time I am making legit progress WIHTOUT CRASH DIETING!!
In the past I put too much stock into what the scale was saying and would give up. I felt like a victim of sorts and that the moderate approach was a crock. I didn’t know any better.
Off to the gym!!
You’re making progress doing what you’re doing Mimsie, keep it up!
Hooray for no crash dieting!!
The legit progress will stand up to you even better. I hope you show off your gams, don’t deprive people. I’ll post a shrimp and veg pick myself today, ya know just to conform.
At the peak of my thyroid thing, I think I gained a good 5 lbs…although my cloths were still fitting, but on the verge of not. Could have been a lot worse!!!
I did not dare to weight myself until two weeks into this month because I knew I would not like what I saw when I already did not like what I saw in the mirror.
I’m glad I finally took charge and got me a good Doc and slapped that other biotch upside the head. j/k…I wish!!
Inky- thanks darling. I’m crackin the whip! Layin the law down.
MT- I really hope so!! I really really do. I’m in this for the long haul. I only wish I hadn’t made it so complicated before by being so flakey. I’ve been chasing weight loss issues for too long and making it take longer than it ever had to be. Probably what ticked my thyroid off as well…but who really knows.
Training today: chest/arms
shoulder warmers
1- face pulls
–Did 1 set of 8 on incline BBB to match the 90lbs and it felt more stable than dbs—
2- seated chest press- 4x10x25,35,35,35(got all my reps with the 35s…last week only got 9 reps)
3- cable chest crusher
4x10x15- most muscular---------> tried 20 on the first set, got it, but not ready for it.
regular, max reps
chest press, max reps
lat raises
4- rope pressdowns- 3x12x35
front raises
5- db hammer curls- 3x12x17.5
rear delt raise on incline bench
6- machine Tri pressdown- 3x12x50
BB curl- 3x12x30
Bike Intervals- 2min- level 8- 4x through
rest 1 min in between
Looking great MiM! Shoulders are poppin, abs are coming in and those legs? Wheeeeeeeeew!!!
Great work ![]()
Oh lots to catch up in here. Good news about the bite. Training looks solid. Pics awesome. And it sounds like you’re in a very good place with the diet. Perseverance and resiliency are beautiful things–and the mark of true strength. You have both. You’re going to get where you’re trying to go.
I hope so…I’ve been trying to get there for a long time now!
With consistency and faith in this moderate approach, it has to work. Not to mention getting my thyroid back in check.
1 month down and I am 4 lbs/4 inches down(and 4inches UP!). Actually probably more but I didn’t weigh myself the first week. Doing this WITHOUT crash dieting is HYUGE for me.
So since it’s a new month, that means adding evening cardio to the mix. Diet stays as is. And let’s clear up ‘diet.’ I’m not ‘dieting,’ at the moment. I’m eating how I feel I should eat. Consistently. Free meals/refeeds as I see fit. Either once a week or when I’ve made a dent in progress. Normally about 7-10 days I’ll carb up. Not the easiest thing in the world to do, with a family to cook for simultaneously. So while I’m sitting eating my shrimp and cabbage, I am staring longingly at the others chowing down on spaghetti and meatballs. Just one example.
I this over with. I’ve been chasing weight loss for 4 years now. Holy shit, why is this taking so long?!!
I wish I was happy as is, but would YOU be happy carrying around an extra 15-20 lbs everyday, knowing you could be feel so much better by just dropping it and getting on with your life??
really am happy for you that you finally have the good doctor that you deserve. doctors are a lot like ART and chiro people etc. a good one really can be one of your best allies. the thyroid thing would really have messed things up… glad you are finally making the progress that you deserve, too.
Thanks Alexus!!
I think the thyroid has been the road block in my way. I first got diagnosed 3 year ago. yep, that makes sense!
Once again, I forgot to take my thyroid pill. Once again fasted training it is. But maybe I’m on to something here? hmmm
I take bcaas and glutamine. I lost a lb in a week this time, as opposed to two weeks. I’d rather have a little protein at least. Maybe cottage cheese or something.
off I go!
Looking good MIM. ![]()
