It’s still a pretty metabolic movement - I say keep doing it as long as it doesn’t hurt. Maybe try box squats.
I read in Taminator’s log that she does above parallel squats due to her old injuries so why not.

What knee sleeves did you get? I’m look at getting some for myself soon. I think there is still benefit to squatting above parallel. See vids of BBers doing above parallel squats with their heels elevated to get more quad activation. You should try it out and see what you think :slight_smile:

haha, no. when the pedaling is easy i sit upright in the seat rather than leaning forward for the handlebars. i find holding the handles a bit hard on my back and have the idea (perhaps false) that i engage my core a bit more by sitting upright. use the lower handles for a bit of assistance when things get hard. then when things get really hard use the lower handles and stand up - then you can get your bodyweight behind pushing the pedal down but my legs do get a bit tired doing that even though it is easier to generate power.

here they use a combo of pedal speed and an adjustable resistance meter. it is kind of sort of a cycling version of bodypump… but the class does get you working if you are that way inclined. guess it is just about figuring out a way to work the machine that works for you.

I had to look up the Meadows article - that shit’s crazy. I might just have to give it a go. My delts are pretty shit, to be honest - I’ve always managed to put muscle on my back and chest but my arms and shoulders have a bitch of a time growing. Perhaps doing silly rep schemes will give them the shock they need.
