Betty Strong

Thanks Sarah…me TOOOOO!
I’d still like to write to Molly and see how she is doing. Did she ever find out if she was allergic to anything? you can PM me if you want.

I also got the write up from my xray and I think from the jist of it, is that I have arthritis and that is what is causing the fluid/pain/swelling. It says something about joint effusion and I’m reading about it now. Sounds sucky.

But an MRI may be requested if my Doc thinks so. Couldn’t hurt to ask!

Mim, I’m so glad that you’re finally getting the medical treatment that you need. YOu’ve been through so much. I’m awaiting anxiously to hear that your treatment is WORKING–that the pounds fall off you and that you get bursts of energy back.

Heaps of energy without heaps of caffiene? That would be a dream come true. I can’t even tell you how long it’s been since I’ve felt ‘normal.’

I’m already feeling better knowing I’m on my way to feeling better!

Training today-- 4x this week!! It’s nice going to a gym that the kids like going to as well. My son loves it cause the daycare has a Wii and a Play station!!

shoulder stuff, hip stretching, planks, leg raises(figure if I do core first it’ll get done!!)

DLs <3 <3
*had to show off for the cross fit girls
leg press(I do it in a froggy like position that allows me to work the vastus med…no knee pain!!)
calf raise(never paid attention to my calfs before…there pretty buff!)
t bar row
incline press(machine)
***tried db incline…did not hurt as long as I kept my elbows tucked…felt more stable on the machine :frowning:
low row
chest press(machine)
tricep
rear delt machine

walking working my way up to 15% incline @ 2.2, lol…holy crap, I LOVE THAT!!! only for 5 minutes though…something to work up to.

MiM! I am so excited for you  that’s great news about the doctor actually getting you the meds you need to sort out that thyroid issue. That is exciting stuff!

Incline walking is much harder than it looks huh? The first time I tried it I said “F this! Id rather go for a 3 mile run than walk on an incline for 10 minutes” lol… I can definitely see why BBers like it. Low impact, low-ish intensity and hard as balls! Lol

Keep kicking booty MiMsy

I’m a virgo toooooooo!

I need to see your FREET3 number.

Your T4 is in range… you may be a non converter.

Also I’m sure you know now you’ve got hashimotos… autoimmune hypothyroidsim. This will not get well on its own. Glad you’re starting your synthroid. Post your FreeT3 number then get the free T3 tested again in eight weeks… if that number is going up you may be ok on synthroid only. If not you will need cytomel (synthetic T3)

YAY@YOU getting WELL!

Thanks for checkin on me Greg and Hally Berry.

The FT3 was still in transit. I’ll let you know when I know! Hashi’s booo…would splain a lot. Wouldn’t be surprised if I had this since I was pg with my son. Um,10 years ago!!!

I’m outta here til late tomorrow night. Lovin all these adventures!!

Good luck with sorting out the work/family balance stuff. Like you, I’ve done some part time stuff through the years, but it’s been a full 10 years since I’ve really worked in my field. Now I think I’d think about something else entirely. What about all the people talking about ART/ massage therapy? Maybe something you could do part time or be flexible with? Just a thought, since your fitness background might be really helpful. I think I’d look at Chiropractics, or maybe PT school if I were starting again.

Glad to hear the medical stuff is coming together and you are finally getting some good info there.

And yay for figuring out a way around your knee pain. Ribbit! Reminding us all that the prehab stuff is important. I really need to always take the time.

Glad to hear you finally have a doc that’ll listen to you!

I do a shoulder warmup before any day that I press.
I usually just take 5’s and do:
10 front raises
10 lateral raises
10 bent over raises
10 bent over raises with elbows against sides.

My shoulders still bother me from time to time, but one thing that made the pain tolerable and actually allowed me to start doing OH pressing again was putting a lot more emphasis on rear delt work. For the longest time I did nothing for rear delts, and had terrible shoulder pain. Sooo if you feel like you don’t hit them that often, it can’t hurt to add more work for them.

Okay I’m confused here. Is the reason your thyroid sucks because of your symptoms or is there actual blood-work proof that it’s sucking?

I ask because your symptoms also sound like vitamin D deficiency and adrenal fatigue.

so happy to hear you finally got a good doc!!

Hill Sprints!!!

And we’re back…that was fun!

We drove down to VA to stay over on Friday night and woke yesterday to explore Shenandoah Valley. We went to see the New Market Battlefield, the Civil War museum and the Shenandoah Caverns. We also visited the place that houses leftover floats from Big time Parades. (Macy’s, Rose Bowl, etc etc)

Oh, you should see these Caverns. Pics do no justice! (at least not with my crappy camera)

Ppuff~ Thanks
But at least you have a field to fall back on! I’m thinkin PT but I’m not sure the passion is there…kwim? And I certainly don’t want to go back to school for something I’m half- assed about.
I still want to be a farmer.

Ironcross~ I posted my lab results up there. I think it’s proof?
Although, getting the adrenals tested wouldn’t be bad. But is there a true way to do that and heal? Or just lots of rest and limiting caffeine?
I don’t even know how they test for it at the clinic or if they even do.

I would say I’ve got the Hashimoto thing goin on since the antibodies were high and they’ve only been climbing over the years…meaning for some reason my body is attacking my thyroid…cool, huh?

Blaze~ I think I hit the rear delts pretty well. If more is better then I’m all for it. I’ll be working all of my ‘backside more,’ anyway…hams, glute, low/upper back etc)
What are some of your favorites?

oh cool!! I think my gym has GHR machines…I was curious about them but saw people doing abs with them?

Will investigate tomorrow…yippee!

hurray for the good dr!!!

Looks like a lovely place to do some sprinting. Ooo, GHR’s, go for 'em!!

Tell your antibodies to chill. Would be nice if we could actually talk to our different body parts. Give it instructions or ask why it does certain things.

I would SO like a GHR machine. Alas, nothing. Good luck with the experiment and the medical stuff!

THanks Brute!!

MT- alas, the machine that I thought was a GHR thing felt unstable and wasn’t sure if I would fall on my face or not so I skipped it. Maybe I could ask the crossfit leader guy who has people doing abs on it.

Kimba- ^see above. And THANKS!! can’t tell if it’s in my head but I think I’m feeling less foggy…ya, magic pill!!!
